The RX Vega 64 Owners Thread

Quake Champions Ultra 1440p VEGA is smoooooooth!!! Maybe i7 8700k and Freesync also helping :p

Honestly for this type of game you want super fast FPS and I just cant believe how great this game runs. Its ridiculous

I love how well games run when fully optimised for Vega, just wish they could do it for all games as it shows nVidia up! If buying right now I'd probably still go for a nice Sapphire 64 + fast Freesync screen, fuller DX12/Vulkan support in these chips for sure

Chaps, just got an Asus Strix Vega 64 - had a question about fan speeds / temps.

While playing PUBG GPU-Z is reporting some pretty high VRM temps; VR SOC and VR Mem both going up to ~100C. GPU core is 78C and HBM is 85C ish (both max temps under load).

The fan is pretty annoying under load (2400rpm / 60%), which I think might be caused by the VRM temps?

Would be great if you guys could share load temps so I can compare please!

Cheers,

Su

I have a reference v64, but could you confirm the screen resolution refresh rate, voltage and clockspeeds that the card uses.

I have a variety of profiles on 1440p@75hz freesync capped, my quiet profile is 1400mhz core 1100hbm and voltage is 0.9250v, fan speed is 2400rpm and temps are around 65c core temp, 67c hbm temp vrm 60c

Oc'd my profile is 1526/1100hbm @ 0.9650v,
Fan speed 2800 temps are 72c core, 73c hbm, vrm 60c

Or 1600/1100hbm @ 1.0625v, fan speed 2800 temps 85c core, 85c hbm, vrm temps 65-70c
But it throttles so I gave to increase fan speed to 3200.

It does depend on the game though, and as I cap to 75hz max I save power and heat when the gpu doesn't need to work so hard.

Has anyone watercooled their Asus Strix Vega 64 to tell us how high where the overclocks managed?

Asking because I am looking for a Vega 64 to watercool but idk if the Strix worth or get reference design as I cannot find a liquid one.

Also does it worth to flash the LC bios?

A liquid one is available, but it's around £225 over launch price.

I would go for the cheapest reference Vega 64 you can find if you intend to watercool.
