The RX Vega 64 Owners Thread

Vega 64 has DP 1.4 & HDMI 2.0b. Usually are 2 + 2 on each
oh 2 and 2, I thought it was 3 DP and 1 HDMI.

One of my monitors has failed and the new one has different connectors so I'm trying to work out how I'll be able to connect stuff up.
Annoyingly both monitors are Freesync but only have 1 DP port each. Both also have an HDMI 2.0 port and 1 or 2 HDMI 1.4 ports.
I'd like to connect my Vega 64 to both using DP but my 1080Ti only has 1 HDMI 2.0 port (unless I got that wrong too), so need to connect to one of them with DP, meaning that screen will need to connect to the Vega 64 with HDMI 2.0 :(

Freesync works over HDMI 2.0b if that is what matters. But make sure you buy rated cable.
Otherwise get a DP to HDMI converter.

Unfortunately my new Vega 64 is still crashing within a few hours of gaming with the graphical errors in the spoiler hidden window below.

My PC is a 2700x, Asus B350 Prime MATX motherboard, a platinum rated 860 watt Seasonic PSU & 2x 8gb sticks of the 8 pack 3200mhz memory running at 3000mhz as 3200 is unstable, My OS is Win 10 pro.

The only questionable component I can see is the motherboard so I've just ordered an Asus 470 motherboard so I can rule out that, I'll rebuild and test the PC this weekend but if the games are still crashing I'll have to return the V64 Red Devil.

Send it back mate. We told you from the start. OCUK will replace it.

I will do if nothing changes with the new motherboard, I just wanted to rule it out. I have been thinking about a new motherboard to hopefully fix the memory speed issue as my current B350 board won't run my memory at it's stated 3200 mhz speed with the 2700X even though it did with the 1600x. Plus it's m-atx which is dwarfed now I'm back in my big case so I'm not just buying the motherboard for the sake of hoping it'll solve my current issue, I'm just delaying the hassle of doing a return in case I don't need to, It's only a couple of extra days just to make sure.

Yeah, he got the worse of the non reference Vega 64.
Even so those are the numbers unfortunately, it might get better with a nitro or a red devil but I don't think we will ever see it really winning by a big margin.
It doesn't really matter for me I am happy with freesync and my 64 nitro, but AMD really need to raise the bar soon.

It is clocked a fair bit lower than the other cards in this video.
Steve overclocked the vega and 1080 and found 1080 still faster.

Overclocking the Strix to 1700 doesn't mean the Strix is working at 1700. Most of the time it will be -150 or even more.
I can tell you the Vega 64 Nitro+ (stock cooler) at 1747 has similar perf with the GTX1080 @ 2190 (watercooled). And I have all the benchmarks to prove it because I owned both the GPUs.

So is impossible to lose 5% the Vega 64 at 1700 over the GTX1080 at 1810. The Strix yes, the Nitro or the Red Devil no.

Also if you look at resent reviews of the V64 LC you see it clearly beating the GTX1080 G1 with it's 1835 boost clock.
The V64 LC has clock 1630 same as the Nitro and the Red Devil.

Should I go on?

Does it beat the 1080 in every game/test?
Everywhere I've looked the majority goes to the 1080.
