Look how nice is scaling with the 2700X :D
Even the FuryX or the R9 290s .
And in addition to other benchmark videos comparing 2700X with AMD & NV GPUs, all exhibit the same behaviour. And hinting that Nvidia hasn't fixed their drivers to work properly with Ryzen CPUs yet, 18 months later

Hi all - just purchased the Red Devil Vega 64 from OCUK - wow its amazing - got some pics but cant work out how to upload to forum :(:(

welcome mate. Try some of the settings I have posted on page 284-285 and let us know how it goes :)
It will cut down your power, while they will allow better performance. At least that what they have exhibited to most who have used them.
(if you have issues raise power limit to 50%).

Any issues post them here, and we can help :)

I see the trusty old 7970 (380x) is now closing in on the 970 :)

Just wondering. But how do drivers improve performance?

AMD improved the 4xx series performance quite a bit after launch, it was around the time they did a big revamp of their drivers. Plus they keep optimizing older cards for quite a long time, whereas Nvidia seemingly abandon them once the next gen gets launched. It's a pretty well known pattern with Geforce cards.

As I said, the rx480 was trading blows with the 970 and 1060 when it came out. Now in recent games it's beating the 980 and the 970 has fallen way down.

I haven't Battlefront 2 in a while, I've not played more than a few hours to date and I'm not far through the campaign either, At 3440x1440 the performance was always well over 60 fps & butter smooth so I'm gonna spend some more in a Galaxy far far away over the coming days.

Which monitor you have? I was looking for 4k but decided 3440x1440 is the way to go for gaming, as I can use the TV for 4K.
Also not going to buy the new LG since pricing seems stupid at over £1000.
