I suspected 650w wouldnt be enough but thought I would try it before spending more money after some other people said they were managing on a 650.
I'm running mine on an EVGA 650w and have no problems at all.
With everything else the system doesn't even come close to using 650w. So it's unlikely the PSU is the problem.
Thank you for contacting Seasonic about this issue and sorry for it.
As mentionned in our FAQ, this issue results of a high peak current happening under load with Vega. If outside ATX specs, it will trigger PSU safety. In order to assist you on this, is it possible to let me know:
- Exact model of your Vega 64.
- Serial number of your PSU.
Then, I may suggest to directly apply for RMA (down the page) with us and we will exchange the PSU for you.
Any question or concern, please kindly let me know.
I would suggest to apply for RMA and we will exchange the PSU for you to see if it can solve your issue.
Please, kindly fill in our RMA form available down this page and one you have your RMA #, just follow the instruction to ship back PSU to our UK warehouse."
Well my start to vega ownership has so far been a nightmare.
Hours after ordering the card on thursday my boot SSD died. So I ordered a m.2 which I didnt get till yesterday. My gpu arrived the next day so was sitting in the box for days.
Once I got everything installed and running a windows update messed up my network settings so I couldnt get a internet connection on my PC. After reinstalling windows twice I finally got that sorted.
I played a few games on battlefront 2 to test things out and it was running great so I bought battlefield V. But my PSU doesnt like that and shuts my pc down.

Looking at the kolink continuum 850w now.
i've not set my 64 up yet but good to hear your running a evga 650w and having no problems,i have a 750w evga and was panicking a little thinking i might have to upgrade the psu but should be okI'm running mine on an EVGA 650w and have no problems at all.

there are in the uk and being a known issue you might get lucky and they ship it same day they receive it ....but yeh who dont hate having to RMA stuff it tends to dragI sent them a message through the chat support on their website and recieved a response surprisingly quick.
They responded again after that,
I have to say fair play to them for responding to me so quick, at least I know where I stand now so dont need to order another PSU.
I just hope the RMA process is swift.
Already had a week without shooting any heads
I built the desk myself, couple of ikea units and some 750mm solid oak worktop from Worktop Express.
Nasher it's a seasonic focus plus issue they don't like Vega cards I've got the 750w unit and bam it switches off within minutes of starting a game
Also I didn't realise seasonic have a rep on the forums
I don't have a seasonic (Bitfenix Whisper-M) but also get this. Do you have issues powering your PC back up after it shuts down?
Have you tried undervolting and upping the power limit?
Very nice with the highlights at the back of the desk.
I do like a clean desk setup

I have to unplug the power cable and hold the power button to discharge everything.
Then I can power it back on.
I spoke to the retailer I got it from, explained the situation and they offered me a refund.
So I ordered a 850w evga.
Thanks for the kind words, the drawer units are IKEA Alex and the bench is actually the Besta TV bench. Like I said previous, the worktop is from Worktop Express. Oak 750mm width and 44mm thick, the worktop was the most expensive part ~£390 but its solid and will last years! It's a nice set up, I'll have to check them out. Cheers.
Thanks! Yeah the RGB lighting at the back is just enough to lift it and give it that extra something!Very nice with the highlights at the back of the desk.

Yeah but a standing desk is just no good for marathon gaming sessions at all lol!Personally tbh I love standing desks.

Thanks, I bought the Signum cable tidy from IKEA. So any power bricks sit on that, and then I've got cable tidy stickers on the underside of the desk to keep the cables up and out the way.Really nice set up . What cable tidying solution did you use? I bought one of those under desk metal trays a while back but it was terrible.
