The Ryzen 5 3600 Discussion Thread

They all say 3200Mhz because that is how much AMD guarantees that the CPU will run. After that its silicon lottery, and RAM dependant as well.

Thanks, so back to the question then, what RAM would you buy? No point in getting the faster stuff if it has little chance of maximising it. Maybe 3400 for middle ground?

Ed- scratch that its expensive and not much about.

I would say if you can get 3600Mhz you will be better off or one that you can overclock to that frequency. From what Ive seen they all can hit 3600Mhz and 1800Mhz Infinity Fabric.

On C7HWIFI UEFI 2602 has ComboPi-AM4 1.0.0.3AB, this seems to boost slightly less for me, PBO+150MHz. I'm sticking with a beta UEFI for my board which is only available on ROG forum, this uses ComboPi-AM4 1.0.0.2.
Yes, ComboPi-AM4 1.0.0.3 definitely reduced boost clocks compared to earlier AGESAs. I'm sure they'll fix this eventually.

Just installed my 3600x today upgraded from 2600 and the gpu fans ramp up loud on start up? also should i have pbo enabled or not thanks

Just got my 3600 up and running on the b450 tomahawk max. Is there any decent guides people have used to get the best performance? The threads are pretty long now so it's a lot of trawling.

Cheers

I'd test if it's boosting to what it says on the tin. Try Cinebench single core test.
I still can't figure mine out so just did an all core OC in Ryzen Master to what it supposed to boost to, but at 1.375v, tho it's on water.
