The Saha Conspiracy

well since coming back from injury he has put them in the net, great 3rd striker to have for Man Utd, and like said with Rossi coming through, things look good for Man Utd next year.

RVN> Saha

And it would be this way for whatever team they play for. It would be nice to think that Saha is only playing to be sold this summer, but at the risk of alienating our best striker? I really doubt it. Ferguson has never done that to a player he wants to sell, they usually sit on the bench getting rusty until their confidence is really low and they actually want to leave and then another club comes in with a mediocre offer. And it's accepted.

Ferguson does not get on with RVN, it started when Beckham left and it's been getting worse ever since. I've been hearing rumours and stories about bust ups in training before the tabloids latched onto it. But this is the final straw though and I really don't blame RVN, if right now, he feels like he should be moving on to a club that appreciates him and his 30+ goals a season. He'll come back to haunt us if Ferguson sells him, I know it.

Saha is a good player at best, and to put it bluntly if he was a horse.....he would have been put down yrs ago. He is a liability and it's bad business to buy a player who is that injury prone and expensive. It's not like his injuries were some big dark secret that no one knew about. The only reason Ferguson signed him was because he wasn't cup tied in Europe, so what happens... we get knocked out in the last 16 two months later. Brilliant bit of business there Ferguson, £12.8million and he'll spend the next 18 months plagued with injuries.

Winning games with Saha up front, whether or not he actually does something, will only help cement the idea in Ferguson's head that we operate better as team with Saha than RVN.

And for the Liverpool fans who said they wouldn't have Saha, are you having a laugh? lol He would score more than Crouch and Fowler with Gerrards workrate behind him. I may not like the guy, but I can appreciate that he scores goals when given the chance, I just don't like the idea of him being chosen ahead of RVN.

As Davey_Pitch said, he only scored the goals he has because of the chances he's been getting and most of the goals he has scored have been in Carling Cup. Saha is not a particuarly better player than Crouch and i will be very suprised if he works as hard as Crouch does either. I agree with Rotty, Liverpool don't need another average striker atm

fair comments, well Saha did not score this weekend so lets just hope RVN is back in the team for the next game.

maybe we do need an average striker ;) unfortunately what we have at the moment and Saha are not quite up to average standard :p

Saha was crap on Sunday until Ruud came on. Fergie decided to balls-up the formation again by bringing Ronaldo off, dropping Rooney back to midfield/winger instantly ruining his chances of a hatrick.

I was crying out for Ruud to come on for him, I see him on the touchline and think, yes - get him on and lets really stuff 'em, but no it's not for Saha

Sod's law he then starts to link things up nicely and Ruud misses a sitter :p

at the moment the utd squad is pretty strong in most positions i believe. If nobody leaves over the summer and we sort the midfield, we can challenge chelsea.

GK - VdS, Howard - No problems

Defence - neville, brown, ferdinand, silvestre, evra, vidic, heinze, bardsley and whoever else ive forgot - No problems, CB has the backup of vidic and silvestre if needs be, bardsley can cover for neville and at left back evra's getting better as the games go on, and with heinze back next season we're sorted in defence.

Midfield - Giggs, Ronaldo, Park, Smith, O Shea, Fletcher, Scholes(if he comes back), nobody else worth mentioning- Obviously the problems lie here, 2 strong CM's are needed (maybe 3 depending on when smith gets back) allowing giggs to operate as backup for ronaldo/park, maybe another winger might help as giggs doesn't always perform these days.

Strikers - RvN, Rooney, Saha, Rossi - No problems

If we could just sign the midfield we need, and keep everyone else happy then next season is looking promising. Hopefully the world cup will highlight a few decent players who perhaps wouldn't have been considered any other time.

Good point, but don't be too hard on Crouch; look at the amount of goals Gerrard has scored thanks to Crouch. We'll have a Defoe Crouch front line next year with Gonzales (seen him play for Sociadad recently and he looks alright - well better than Kewell) on the left and a good RM and the league's ours

^

yep well said mate, sounds like there is money to spend, so as long as everyone else stays happy, should be a good season next year, as long as the players can be brought and found!

Is this that famous Scouse sense of humour they always harp on about? :p

Saha is suited to kick and rush football, where all his balls are ones he can chase down or run onto.

He isnt suited to a footballing side.

He has too much time to think.

na there is much much more to his game, seen him in recent games and he can make time for himself on the ball quite well,

I think the reason Fergie states is more possible than most of the rumours that have been going round. He wants to play him a bit so he won't leave.

He's an excellent backup striker, for resting your first choice or injury cover or for things like the Carling Cup, he's proved that with his recent goal scoring. But, he'd walk into a lot of premiership sides and get a first team place week in week out. A lot of the stick he gets is a bit harsh imo, he may get lots of chances to score, but he doesn't just stand there and someone sets him up, he works for them and he creates chances too. Alright, his finishing was a bit off, but whats better, a player who creates 10 chances and scores 2, or one who makes 2 chances and scores 1?

atpbx is right, Saha is nothing more than an average player, suprised you say he's been playing well recently; everyone else says he's been ****. He scored a few in Cup games against lower league sides and 2 PL goals but has taken 4 chances to score.

I think we are all reading a bit too much into it. Yes we all know what Fergie is capable of and his history with players who get on the wrong side of him. But what has poor old Ruud done? Call me naive, but maybe this is all the innocent workings of Fergie. I think Saha and RvN will be staying next season...
