Ronaldo would be awsome if he:

Was faster.
2nd fastest in team (behind Silvestre)
Could finish.
8 goals in 7 games
Could pass.
4 assists - as many/more than any Tottenham midfielder (despite the bans/rest)
Could cross.
Same as above.
Was stronger.
Can't remember last time he was shown as weak? He's very strong on the ball, anyone goes down when caught at full pace.
Could play football.
I think the above proves I was right and you're wrong.

You are kidding, he's just like Ferdinand.. calm on the ball and tries to pass it about.

And Wes brown isn't? :p

Edit: And since when has Silvestre been our fastest player? rofl :D Ronaldo cannot cross a ball consistently, and if he stopped the showboating we might stop losing possession whenever he does get the ball.

Nah, Wes Brown gets the ball and hoofs it clear when needed, Rio and Pique seldom do. Wes Brown does what he should do. He's also been the best defender in England in 2006 imo. It's criminal if he isn't in the England squad. Personally, I would start him with Terry/Ferdinand (both are having bad spells at the moment) though Terry has been more consistent this season.

Silvestre has been for a long time, I know he was our fastest player 2 years ago in the speed trials. Ronaldo was second. Ronaldo is becoming more consistent by the game.
I would also say we lost a lot more possession through O'Shea, Fletcher, Giggs, Park and Silvestre more than we do through Ronaldo.

But we're not talking about Giggs, Fletcher, O'Shea, Park and Silvestre. We are talking about Ronaldo, I can't count the number of times Ronaldo tries neat little tricks or back heels and loses possession for us when he should be concentrating on passing properly and making runs. Park has only really been given a proper run in the first team now but is a team player. This is Ronaldo's third year with us and I don't think he has improved much.

And these speed trials...would they be running with or without a ball at their feet? Links? :)

If it's with the ball at their feet then Ronaldo and Giggs would be 1 and 2. Silvestre and the ball is something I don't want to think about.

And yes, Wes Brown has been the best central defender in the league this season. If Sven picked on form He'd be a starter alongside Carragher but it'll never happen. But unlike Chelsea and Liverpool's defences, he hasn't had a solid and consistant midfield providing protection.

Stuff that clearly isnt true about Ronaldo.

How about this, to prove the point.

How many Ronaldos would i have to offer you to swap him for ONE Wayne Rooney.

Or one Giggs.

Or one Van Nistelrooy.

As for Wes Brown being the best English defender, jesus christ :( .

(sa)hahahahaha.

Go away for a few days, come back and now Wes Brown is regarded as the best defender in the country and Ronaldo is "strong". Did I take a wrong turning somewhere?:)

I think Wes Brown has been class this year although not the best in England.

Agreed

Brown has been Uniteds best defender this season by far (Not if Heinze was playing, who IMO is Uniteds best defender when all fully fit)

If and when Fergie buys at least 2 hard working centre midfielders thats when I feel United will have decent balanced team of experience and youth a total package if you like.

Also is it me or as this thread spiraled way off topic
