I couldn't see a topic on this so I have made one
http://www.thesettlersonline.com
I have been playing it a for a few weeks so far and I quite like it. This time it plays like a lot of the other time based web games (only other one i spent time on was Ogame, which i enjoyed until the newb protection ran out and I ended up under attack often enough that I never had any resources to carry on playing).
It is still in beta at the moment and has some features such as player vs player missing. You basically start out on an island which you have to (slowly) conquer (by killing all the other bandits there). It does change the dynamics of settlers from what I am used to. None of the road management is there but there is more choice in combat units to produce.
Its free to play, but you can purchase "gems" which get you bonuses such as free resources or faster unit production, hopefully the player vs player will not be a requirement in the end so the gems will not be required to carry on playing and compete.
Also has guild support so if enough OCUK folk play then it might be worth setting one up.
