Ahoy there!!

I'm looking for some peoples opinions of "The Ship" Mod for HL2 anyone on here played it?

I've seen it for 10 quid and thought it sounds like an ideal change from the random shooting fests that I've starting to get bored with. Is this the case or is it a bit plop?

Cheers

Played it on one of the free weekends and it was a lot of fun, well in the begining anyway.

The idea is to murder someone that is assigned to you randomly without getting caught (seen by staff & security cam), while at the same time you are also being hunted by some random person on the ship. You can use anything that is available to you - frying pan, snooker cue, axe or hidden guns...etc.

It was a good laugh at the start but I got bored after a day or 2. It's annoying when you got killed in the begining and have to wait a long time for that round to finish. And there is always someone who goes round killing random people.

The idea of secretly beating someone to death with a frying pan holds gigantic appeal for me I think I'll make a purchase!

Actually you could be right!

Does anyone here know which type of frying pan would be easiest to clean? The options are

A) Stainless
B) Non Stick

Kind regards

I used to play The Ship (original HL1 mod) a few years back, and really got into it. Can't say the same about the HL2 version though, just got bored if it quickly

it's an allright game but when they released it there were a lot of bugs (which is understandable because the initial release was technically only a beta to the full release, and obviously anyone who bought it would automatically get the update). At one point though they released an update which set all the animations a bit crazy. People would be floating around in a sitting position instead of walking. It was amusing but it spoiled the game a bit. I told myself I would play it when the game was updated to fix it.

Which it was, however they also introduced bots to online play. I connected to one server, at which point I realised it was entirely bots, so I decided I would play again later and find a server without bots on. Never got round to playing again, now I look at the server list and there are no servers in europe with real people on (although there seems to be a couple in America).

It's sad because it was quite a fun game...

I've just had a quick look in the server list and I see what you mean about there not being many people about! :(

It still appears that it would be a lot fo fun in principle! (as of yet still to play going through the introduction :p )

If there arent that many people about maybe we could round up a few overclockers at a later date and have a bash :D

TBH there is no point playing online then if all you get are servers with a bunch of bots on, as you can play against bots with the single player version of The Ship for half the price on steam. :(
