A slightly pre-emotive piece of good news - tomorrow is the shortest day!

Whatever your favourite month, I think we can all be in universal agreement that it being dark before and after you hit the office is total ass.

I think we've had a fairly mild Autumn: no crazy coldness and I actually enjoyed watching the leaves change colour this time /manly man.

We'll be oggling dresses and BBQing before you know it - hooray

You thought wrong... I love the Autumn/Winter months, can't stand Spring/Summer, just the way I Am.

I didn't say everyone universally prefers summer, just that it being so dark is pretty miserable and universally annoying. At least summer isn't too hot by default. Winter is always too dark.

Love me some snow.

For a day.

Having just spent the weekend in Manchester I can confirm it's grim up north with even shorter days. Happy here in Sussex paying £5 for a can of coke and enjoying less grim days.

Just to be different from everyone else. I much prefer the changing of the seasons. Winter to Spring and Summer to Autumn. :p

All tho if I had to choose between Winter and the Summer. I'd have to pick the Summer due to the lighter nights and warmer weather.

Hate winter, love spring, summer and sometimes autumn though!

Winter means more time indoors usually so more heating on and electric usage so poor poor poor :-(

Me as well. I like spring, summer and winter when it's actually cold. Hate autumn just wet and windy doom and gloom.

This was the first year I really noticed and enjoyed the leaves turning oranges, reds and browns.... Really liked it! :o

Can deffo do without the silly darkness though!

Yes, over the hump.

Here's to a speedy return to mid-week BBQs, washing the car after work and lounging around in the garden with a glass of wine whilst wearing shorts and t-shirt.

To be fair could do that now, but loses a bit of it's magic. :D

I like the darker eves and mornings. I find I sleep better when it's not daylight at 4am. Although perhaps this is my fault for simply not investing in some blackout blinds.

I've never known it to be so mild in late December. My winter gas bill is going to be low. In fact, I will need to supply a gas meter reading, as the quarterly bill will be an estimate.

nope not in agreement with you on that, I love the dark. always have. Love the winter too, just wish we got proper winters with snow - not just this wet miserable muck that we have for weather
