I must say that black and white on a road bike is my favourite colour combo (maybe with the odd dash of red). Lovely looking bike.

Of course if you posted that on Bike Radar, they'd say:

- Cut your steerer
- Remove the saddle bag and carry things in your jersey
- Remove the dust caps
- Align the crank with the seat tube or chain stay

:p.

I did and they did!

The steerer got cut after a month, I just wanted to make sure I was happy with the fit.

Saddle bag has gone (I use a Lezyne caddy in my jersey now) and the dust caps have gone

Well I got my first road bike today. Specialized Allez Elite (2005) for £250 including some egg beaters (ditched them for my Shimano M520s), spare brake pads, and some old but comfy Shimano cycling shoes.

Just got back from a short ride to test it out and I'm delighted. Not that I've got much to compare it against (Carrera Subway 1) but it feels amazing to me as you can probably imagine, light and fast. Very sure-footed though.

It's got a carbon seat post and forks. Bloke said he'd only done ~400 miles on it since 2005 :o. Said he preferred his Trek hybrid for most scenarios.

Still to install shorted Nukeproof 60mm Stem and some wider bars with a lower rise (Chromag)

Loving the orange, I'd have kept the tyres orange personally and used white bar tape.

Thanks. The orange was all just a bit too much and I need to swap on my winter tyres anyway. I'm a big fan of white but it would have just got filthy and I'd have ended up wanting to swap for a white saddle too.

What colour tyres do you gus think i should get? First impression were get white tyres but i think maybe there would be to much white then so maybe red?
