Finally we have this on Android...

I have a nexus7 and a Galaxy S3 - Can anyone tell me why this application does not sync between the devices? you need a connection to play, you purchase donuts from the app store and the game even runs through a sync step when booting up....

Surely this game should be syncing between the devices? can anyone help?

Im sure I read that the sync works on Apple between ipad and iphone....

I cant understand why this wouldn't sync...I cant even play the game without a internet connection...

Sadly in the world of Android apps don't sync data between devices, unless the app has it's own server to sync to.

Carbon or DataSync is a good work around but can be a bit of a pain.

Welcome to EA Mobile gaming, prepare to be frustrated and fleeced where ever possible.

+1 to this :p.

The Apple versions of this game aren't without their flaws either, they frequently drop out under the guise of syncing, or won't connect to the EA server. Plus, if the sync fails you can lose a load of progress.

So much so, in one of the recent Simpsons episodes on telly they started poking fun at it. :)

You ain't kidding. Installed it over the weekend and was looking at the price to buy more donuts. The biggest batch was almost £100

I've yet to figure out the long term attraction of it though. Tap a bit, wait for stuff to happen, tap, wait and repeat. Perhaps I shouldn't have gone for growing corn which is 90 days...

The iOS edition uses Origin for sync - this was not ported. The file with the data you need is inside a folder you'll need root to access if you want to sync it.
There are apk versions on Android that have been modded to allow you to go into negative donut numbers (and then it resets to zero every time you play, effectively making donuts free and in unlimited supply. as with cash as well.). These can be found on a site that was famously banned by BT/Virgin/et al.
You can reset corn by putting it in your inventory and back out again ;)

It's obscene. EA taking micro-transactions to a whole new level, scumbags. They really are the scourge of the gaming world in my humble one.

I've not spent a penny on my Springfield, and it's take AGES to get the simplest thing done. The whole thing is a framework to make you buy stuff, it's not really even based around enjoyment and if anything it's killed a little bit of my soul that otherwise unreservedly loved Matt Groening's creation.

That is to say if I see Gill popping up to hock me more junk, I may explode.

Or more reasonably just uninstall it and find something else to while away the minutes. :)

After jumping ship from iOS to my nexus 4 a couple of weeks ago and being level 26 on Simpsons I was so excited when I saw this on play store at the weekend but I can't believe I can't carry on from my other game. Its the only thing that is stopping me selling my old iphone

I've coughed 77p a couple of times on Candy Crush but pulled a face at some of the add-ons that were around £20.

£100 though - I'm still  at the price now. I'll pay £40 for COD as it's a full game and will last ages on multiplayer but this is just crazy IMHO.

One damn good reason to ensure you have to enter a password before confirming any Play Store purchases!

Just wondering would anyone know if your game progress can be backed up on a non rooted device?

I have a fault on my S3 and need to take it in for repair but I dont want to start over - as the sync doesnt work I need to backup the data :(
