Basically Homer caused a nuclear meltdown by playing a game on his tablet when he should have been monitoring the core. So you have to rebuild Springfield.
Theres tons of different buildings and characters from the cartoon. You earn money and exp by having them do jobs that give more based on how long it takes them to do them. Like for example you can have Lisa do things like read a book, play her saxaphone, do homework, babysit Rod and Tod etc etc. The jobs characters can do are all consistent with their cartoon selves and new jobs become available as time goes on. For example you can have Homer go drinking at Moes or go to work at the nuclear plant, but only when you have actually built Moes Tavern and the nuclear plant.
Its pretty fun. You just gotta avoid the temptation to buy doughnuts with real money, which you can use to buy stuff and complete jobs/building constructions faster.
