The Simpsons.... time to end it

I agree, Simpsons should be stopped, it really isnt funny!

But Family Guy & American Dad are just brilliant! Peter Griffins laugh just has me in splits every time.

Some of the newer episodes of The Simpsons have been pretty funny, that said Family Guy and American Dad are far more suited to my tastes and I love them both way more than I've ever enjoyed The Simpsons. Then there's South Park which I just think tries way too hard to be edgy and controversial and the voices get on my nerves anyway, especially Cartman. I guess you could say similarly that Family Guy tries to be edgy and controversial but in my opinion and to me as a viewer it doesn't seem as blatantly obvious, there's just something about South Park that stops me enjoying it for some reason.

I have seasons 1-8 of the simpsons on dvd, its gold! Watching some of them and I cant believe how funny it was. I set the end at season 9/10 (which ever one is viva las ned flanders) as after that all the ideas become to formalised and dull...

Futurama on the other hand never had the opportunity to get that bad so we get our rose tinted glasses out for it (then again its still too funny).

I agree, bring back king of the hill, that has class (and iv got seasons 1-5 on dvd and want later ones in region 2)...

Family guy has gone the way of the simpsons, everything in the last few series has been fairly unwatchable

Its defo declined in quality. But its gone from the best thing on TV to top 5 things on TV.

Family Guy gives me some laughs, American Dad gets a chuckle. South Park is excellent. Old Futurama is good but the new series is average.

I just think its because of the modern age TV with animated comedy pushing new boundaries, like South Park and Family guy, The Simpsons doesn't really push any boundaries but then its never been about adult controversial comedy

I'd decided that i just had grown out of the Simpsons a couple of years back. A few months ago however there was nothing to watch on TV so decided to just man up and watch an episode. Turn out it was one of the classics (Beer Baron), at that moment i realized that i still love the Simpsons, it's just that it's pretty rubbish these days, the classics still can't be beat.

'I'll get you beer baron'

'No you won't!'

'Yes i will'

'Won't!'

.

Family Guy is far worse. The entirety of its humour relies on "this reminds me of the time when..." *cut to something utterly random*.

Not for a long time, the latest couple of seasons have seen a marked drop of "this reminds me of the time.........." gags.

As for American Dad, Roger is the greatest cartoon creation ever.

It's funny how you forget about shows like this. The only episodes I've seen recently to be fair, have been the older ones.

It's hard to imagine the Simpsons not being on the television but I guess everything ends sometime.

Well...apart from Friends, which no doubt will be still broadcast in 2029. :p

Family Guy gets a smile out of me once or twice at most but I always feel rather dumb for even giving them that. :D

Heck yes, Roger is absolutely amazing.

Futurama (old) > Simpsons (old) > American Dad > South Park > Family Guy > Simpsons (new)

I would add Archer to the list, but it's only had one (loltastic) series.
