Did anyone used to play these games? I know The Sims is still around but 4 just doesn't do it for me. Both if the first games are getting a re-release with all the expansions, hopefully with compatibility fixes and a scalable UI. The Sims 2 was given away free a while ago, so it might be free for you.

Same, and I just use the unofficial patch which lets them work on later Windows. I actually played through Sims 1 a few weeks ago for a few days for pure nostalgia.
 
Yeah I steer towards 2 more though as I unfortunately link the first with a memory concerning a classmate of mine who died at 15. I recall playing the game later that evening (we found out in the morning once we got to school) and the music hits very different since.
 
The worst part about this is that you know they're going to charge some silly amount for the whole thing. Sims must have made them billions.

If I remember correctly they make, or at least used to make, $500m per year. But people will be really annoyed if 2 isn't a free for existing owners on what ever Origin is called now. Would be nice if you could activate Sims 1 retail keys, but I doubt it even in the unlikely event that it is possible.
 
Remember playing them both I think when I was younger, have played a bit of 3/4 and my wife enjoys 4 but I think we might have to give these a go for nostalgia if nothing else assuming prices are remotely sensible.
 
This is weird, but ok lol.

I wouldn't mind giving them a go purely to relive a bit of my youth but there is no way I'm buying them again.
 
Ooh...

I'm a nostalgic softy at times and only a few months ago I was on YouTube listening to The Sims soundtrack as it just instantly brought me back to a time in my youth where my cousin and I would play for hours on end. We're not as close any more but it hit me right in the feels. Even made me teary!

Think I'll dabble with this. Can't wait to kill off The Mortimers with a house fire.

My other half liked the 3rd one if not for the crashing/poor optimisation
I like the build menu music.. I mean even if you didn't play it everyone of a certain age remembers the first game being huge at the time

Are they overhauling it or just doing the ol' cash grab

My OH is going to buy the **** out of the sims2. It was her favourite growing up.

At least I'll get more free time for POE 2 :cry: :cry:
