I will watch this when it comes out, albeit he was crying at the ovation (where have all the real men gone! ).
Variety have a review up as well, I think it was 4/5 stars, albeit I didn't read it.

Agreed. I'm usually the first one to stop clapping. For more than a minute is awkward but maybe it's just me!

It’s an interesting premise but the ‘tortured fighter’ has been done many times, so I’m a bit lukewarm to it.

I feel like this is going to be one of those films where everybody says how amazing the rock was but a huge part of that is because the bar for his acting was so low beforehand.

I thought it could have been better. Maybe better acted, or possibly scripted/directed.

Both main characters came across as uncommunicative and self absorbed, and they weren't particularly likeable, although that could have been the roles they were playing, in which case the acting was excellent, if a little wooden.

First time I've been disappointed in Emily Blunt, but that's another big (literally) male actor ticked off her co-starring list.

Not really, they were in Jungle Cruise together a few years ago.

The rock has never been considered a good actor. He’s a perfect fit for this movie though he’s playing a big guy who’s a wrestler and that was basically him in WWE.
