Any of you guys had the snip? I want it done but as i imagine a lot of guys would feel, its a knife cutting my presious bits! And is giving me the ***** lol. Going for a hernia op and the snip at the same time! I guess what im looking for is someone here to say 'i've had it, its fine you'll be ok' And put my mind at ease a bit lol. Ugh not excited

@Hikari i joyfully already suffer from chronic testicle pain so am aware of the risk of that getting a little worse, but its an on and off thing.

Cant wait to get it all out the way and be done with it, im 6ft tall 85kg 8% bodyfat covered in tattoos but im a right little girl!!

I've read/heard about the whole it not working and the tubes regrowing back together but it seems pretty few and far between.

The mrs did have the inplant but it didnt agree with her, she's on the needle in the buttcheek atm but shes gained a good stone since shes been on it :S

mate of mine had it done, he now gets random excruciating shooting pains down there from time to time. Only happens once or twice a year he said but its so painful he can't move, talk, breathe etc... put me off ever having it done!

Yup thats chroinic testicle pain (i already suffer from that lol) apparently 10/15% of us have it :O

I had the tube up the penis, now thats fun. First they inject you with im guessing how it felt was a wasp travelling inside my penis. Then the doctor sends a camera up there, nearly fainted when i seen the size of it (nikon SLR) i was actually laughing at one point, when i peed all over the doctor.

Woah that made me feel a tad queasy!

Went to the doctor last week to be told that he was referring me to see a urologist and it would be highly likely that I would need a cystoscopy. I made the mistake of going home and doing some research. Suffice to say I am now scared ****less and have no doubt that "the little fella" will shrivel up and try to hide.

just for the hernia part. good to walk around after it though extremely tiring. now. these are words you will thank me for. eat LOTS of fibre. prunes etc. no doubt they will give you Co-codamol. that stuff makes you uber constipated. combine that with your soon to be inability to ' push ' makes for tiring, lengthy and painful work!

Yea i've been doing some reading on that too, seems like a fairly traumatic op to get done I planned on eating a bag of prunes a day at least for a week or two till things settled down, the most annoying part for me tho is no gym for three months! I could have cried lol

On the upside, if you do get an infection and the swelling is sufficient, you could perhaps use your gonads as a means of conveyance, space-hopper style.

I can't fathom the thought of this kind of body modification, especially given the astronomically high complication rate, eg 10% risk of chronic pain. It's also no wonder the NHS is doing so badly when it's funding expensive lifestyle surgery.

lol body modification? Your making it out to be some kind of fun op done for individualism like tattoos or the like. If you work it out per couple, as most people who get it done are in serious realationships, one op is miles cheaper than a lifetime of pills/jabs and other contraceptives. One should perhaps engage brain before opening mouth

Yeah you should engage your brain, the NHS aren't buying everyone's contraception. Nor is it a lifetime supply as most people do it in their 40s which is not that far off the menopause. In contrast to the lifetime of medication that many patients who develop complications from a vasectomy have to take.

I think you'll find the pill and pretty much all female contrception is free on the nhs, as are jonnys. Menopause can happen at any age but 51 is the averadge, thats 21 years away in our paticular case. Each is different but in mine the snips cheaper. Also the percentage of guys needing 'a lifetime of medication' is non exsitant i've read nothing about that nor did the doctor say anything, the biggst risk is loseing blood supply to the testicals but this happens 1-1000 and is quickly fixed.

Sure they offer them but in my experience most people buy them.

In the army, out on excessive. Evasive fire/retaliation fire drills up a hill covered in brambles and stinging nettles in North Yorkshire (Catterick to be exact). Ordered to fire, move, dive... So you fire off 2 rounds, move at a zig zag then dive to the floor, fire off another 2 rounds and repeat.

The snip for me has been no biggy tbh. No pain there whatsoever, the hernia site however dear god that hurts, cant cought, laugh, sneeze or walk properly its pathetic lol :S I belive most places are doing the NSV now im sure thats what i had done.
