Spotted this on Netflix, as someone who isn't glued to social media 24/7 (instagram, facebook etc) and with young members of the family absolutely obsessed with it. It was an eye opening documentary and certainly made me think about just how much screen time the kids are getting.

It's a nice thought but then it's on Netflix where people waste hours of their lives on that platform or other streaming platforms on a daily basis.

Screen time is only going in one direction.

I think its more to do with the complete control the likes of instagram/facebook have over what you see that is the issue. Specially for young minds that are easily persuaded.

The reality of it is, I think many parents haven't a clue what their children are seeing or doing on their phones/tablets.

Regulation is needed for social media though, yes its an incredibly powerful tool that can do good, but its also easily exploited for profit and can lead to some major issues not just for an individual but an entire country as well.
