I just thought Id say that I bought my Dad a Spicery Subscription for Christmas and he made his first curry from it last week.

He said it was the best curry hes ever had and him and his Missus were over the moon with the whole gift .

Heres a link for anyone who doesnt know what it is.

Basically they send you recipes and spices (often ones you dont find in regular shops).. then you just add the main ingredients and youre sorted.

Well recommended!

They look rather splendid indeed. Although I'm sure we'll have the usual suspects totally missing the point and popping in to proclaim that buying in bulk is better value for money.

Are the accompanying recipes easy to follow? I can think of a few people this might make a lovely gift for but they find following recipes somewhat challenging at the best of times.

I now know what my dads getting for his birthday :)
My mum got me and him a similar thing from "The Spice is right" a couple of Christmases ago which was great although it was all dried spices so this looks like it'll be even better.

Yeah my Dad said it was all easy to follow. Honestly they were absolutely buzzing about it.

His missus is buying them for friends and since my Dad is off work at the minute with a shoulder problem he is using his spare time cooking.

Ill be going round to try the next one myself :)

Use them occasionally and ive never been disappointed. Great curries and ive made a few of their world foods Asian dishes which are also excellent. I don't subscribe though i just buy a few meal kits at a time, think they do a discount if you order 4.

Edit - The subscription pricing is far too high, its £19.95 for a 3 month sub, and for that as far as i can tell you only get 3 curries, albeit with side dish recipes included. But a meal kit on its own is £2.95, with the 10% discount for ordering 4 at a time its less than £11 for more curries. Just add rice or naan/chipatis and screw the side dishes.
