How is the driver support for Vista nowadays... its been a while since I went back to XP after getting really miffed with the lack of Creative Vista Tools.

I'm guessing 5 months since the launch of Vista this has all been resolved?

Yup EAX works fine for me on xfi gamer, OpenAL installed and EAX mode enabled in gaming mode :)

TBH tho there's STILL a LOT of work to be done by Creative - not just with the drivers but trying to repair their rep with their customers...

I cant believe creative still havent sorted it properly.

Im gonna make a 2nd boot with xp for gaming, its the way forward, for now.

i moved back to xp to game, due to gfx drivers.

I got my xfi to work perfectly within 5 mins of having vista.

There are ways round this, dont rely on creative for drivers, people knew this well before xfi (kx drivers for audigy2 for example.)

Im sure Creative got a lot of work to do even on the readme file it says DirectX EAX not present/Dolby digital/surround not there and this Vista driver is incompatible with the software/tools from the Xfi cd.

Speaking of there support its not bad, lost my ribbon cable for my xfi card and they kindly sent one free to me :)
even though it was almost 2 years old the card.... chuffed not bad support in some ways.

Thanks for that, ill give them a try. The creative ones I had before didnt work at all, suprisingly the xp drivers worked, kind of.

I'm having a terrible time with the new Vista drivers. I went from 32-bit Vista to 64-bit Vista with a clean install, and in the switch over I found that Creative had new drivers on their site.

Well, ever since installing them, I have to disable the X-Fi after booting up, because all I get from the speakers is earbursting static. The only way to fix it is disable X-Fi in Control Panel then re-enable it. I mean, what the hell is that all about?

Does anyone know where I can get the older drivers, they worked fine for me on 32-bit Vista?

For some reason with the latest SB X-Fi drivers, i lost 5.1 sound in games.

Its set to 5.1 in the CP :/

Just glad i have the dual boot option, as i can do without the grief.
