Give me a list of stuff you should have saved when you last did a format but forgot.

About to do a clean install with a new O/s for a mate but I'm bound to forget something :o

Pictures
Documents
Music
Bookmarks
Game saves
email addresses / emails

what else is there:confused:

One for me is downloads folder with all my game patches. Although with steam that sort of thing is less of an issue.

I copy the drive/partition then format it ^_^

Of course that now means it's taking up some other space but at least the space I wanted on the drive I wanted it on is now clear.

Came in handy recently. Dropped an external HDD while it was on. Dead on impact :/

bookmarked web pages last time i did that i spent ages searching for them again

get xmarks addon for firefox and never have to worry about that again, here - http://www.xmarks.com/ also works with chrome, ie and safari

i always forget drivers, i store the latest ones in a folder for just such an occasion and always forget to copy it

and my extensive collection of "human body research films" ;)

Last time I formatted I forgot to backup outlook, so I lost about 2 months worth of emails from the last time I manually sync my PC to my laptop.

I have done this in the past, so I always have a backup on my USB flash drive, and laptop - as I have about 10 PC's worth of drivers on there!

I forgot to save my TARDIS model, but I can easily remake it. Lucky I saved my Dalek though ... That's a **** to make.

I always forget saved games and my wifes excel budget which is updated everyday to keep track of our millions
from past experience I've now got c my documents also saving on my 2nd hdd

Email.

I moved from XP to Vista about 2 years ago and carefully transferred years of emails from Outlook Express to Windows Mail, When I moved to Windows 7 I completely forgot to back them up. I still have them lurking somewher in a Windows.old folder, but don't know how to get at them

Clone the drive first to a spare hard drive (download hirens boot cd and use norton ghost) then copy off what you need, that way you dont loose anything!

BTW, is it possible to move Vista to a second hard drive without losing anything or moving everything?

I just wanna move it to a faster hard drive and it to work like normal. Somehow i doubt it!!

Like I said in a previous post, just burn a copy of the free hirens boot cd and clone the drive with norton ghost ;)
