Just a quick query really.

Will be receiving my 290X tomorrow to replace my 970 GTX.

Should I completely remove the Nvidia drivers before powering up with the
290X if so how do I remove them in the correct fashion?

Just wanting to ensure this transition goes as smooth as possible.

Thank you very much.

Will give it a go tomorrow when the card arrives.

Ah good luck, Got an empty day tomorrow so hope the DPD bloke doesn't knock me up to early ey! :P

I hope he turns up at six in the monring might dig the sleeping bag out and sleep near the front door tonight ;)

I got an empty day tommorow to :D Enjoy!

I would never use a driver remover if you are using AMD cards. There have been instances when they have removed a windows based AMD file that causes problems when installing the AMD drivers.

Just go into control panel, programs and features, uninstall all nvidia drivers found there. Shutdown PC remove card, put AMD card in and boot up then install AMD drivers.

Had a look at that program but after reading Varkanoid's post and checking the drivers were all there that is now exactly what I will do :D

probably for the best doing it that way :)

Looking forward to playing dying light amongst other things :D
You got any plans?

Dying Light looks great but I have plenty of un finished games to keep me entertained at the moment so I will most likely be grabbing that when it comes down in price slightly.

Going to play through Sniper Elite 3 and Tomb Raider (Both AMD games I believe) in the next week or so oh and after neglecting BF4 single player for over a year due to multiplayer I best get that completed too!

I've been able to play top games due to having a 970 GTX but as you may have read due to the VRam issue that's the reason for a 290X purchase until a more sensible upgrade path for me gets released as well as when I upgrade to 1440p.

Deffo excited about unboxing new shiney tech though, that SMELL!

Edit: Give Crysis 3 a go if you haven't already that will make your new GPU shake! The game looks beautiful and if you like the game well that's just a bonus :P

cheers for that, will give some of them a go!. Tomb raider was brilliant wish i could wipe it from my memory and play it again! The story was spot on. I have 8 games on backlog to play. Only just finished the mass effect series will miss them

Tomb Raider was one of the best games i've played in a long time.

I completed Mass Effect when they first came out, it recently was free on Origin so i think I'm going to have to play through again.

Better put 100 hours or so to one side then :D First one will always be my fave, one of the only games where i have cared about the characters in it.

I'd only play the first one though, I played through that 3 times!! But that's alright, college is slowing down at the moment, i've got plenty of time on my hands :D

Metro bundle is always great if that is your kind of thing.

Plus it can be picked up for £10/15? For two games is quite good.

I've been contemplating these games for a while, I don't know if I should get them.
