My nephew was asking his mother where did he come from.
So she explained to him where babies actually come from.
At the end she asked him if he understood and he turned around and said:
"Well, I do understand how I got out, I can't understand how I got in".

We were at an event of some sort.
Me (on my Dad's shoulders) *relatively quietly* - "Daddy, that man's got a hamster on his head".
Dad *quietly* - "No, no I don't think so".
Me *loudly* - "Yes he DOES"
At that point apparently I snatched the toupe of the head of the guy in front of us

My wife got an apron for her birthday (gender stereotypes, yo!) and had the following conversation with my 4 year old:
4yo: Why have you got another apron?
Wife: Because someone bought it for me for my birthday.
4yo: But you already have an apron.
Wife: Now I have two.
4yo: But you don't need another one.
Wife: It was a present!
4yo: (thinking) Well, now if you and daddy are both cooking you can both wear an apron.

Every morning when I leave for work my 4yo does the "See you later, alligator" thing except rather than letting me say "In a while, crocodile" she just goes right ahead and shouts that too.
She also says "Bye bye daddy. Do good work." to me.
My 1yo has started waving too when I say bye bye in the morning, which is very sweet.

I'm amazed how many people on these boards have kids - never realised it before! I kind of imagined that 90% of the people here were 20-25 year old uni students and grads!
It's good to see that people have a life outside of these boards. There's hope for me yet

My daughter is only 18 months old so isn't quite able to string sentences together yet, however she loves In the night garden, especially Macca Pacca, or as she calls him, 'Bugger Bugger'
Also, it probably wasn't a good idea of me to try and teach her the word 'clock' when she can't pronounce the letter L yet.

My sister has two little girls both aged 4 and they come out with some great stuff,
One of them was walking along with an old guy who's a friend of the family, named keith.

My 4yo has been learning about death, because our neighbour's cat died recently. She's getting to grips with the idea that it's dead and buried. She's also borne witness to my mum burying a dead bird and to my wife burying a dead toad, so I think she's getting the hang of it. I figure it's best to explain these things as they come up.
She's asked where babies come from and my wife told her that they come out of "your bottom" which she was ok with. She's not asked how they get in there, so that's a conversation for another day. She did tell my wife that she didn't remember being born though. A few days after this conversation she told my mother in law that "Mummy says babies come out of your bottom, but I don't really understand how that works."
She's just started school. The other day she was playing with magnets. The teacher said she should try picking up some paper with one of the magnets and she said 'That wont't work, it's not magnetic!"
We spent the other evening experimenting with some helium balloons to see what they could hold up. Five hairgrips or a pencil was the record. I had a go at explaining gravity to her, which was quite hard work!

My 13month-old now says "Halooo!" and waves to EVERYBODY in the street and shops.
Amazing how many people blatantly blank her, though when all they have to do is smile...

My 4 year old still does this, I was always suprised in the sort of people that spoke back, Strangely it was either teenagers or old people, ages from about 30 to 50 just ignored him.
Does not take a lot to be polite.
