So I did understand that right its Ryzen 5xxx + X570 Motherboard and 6xxx series gpu for SAM and Rage ?

Didnt include a B550 Board ?

You can see why AMD have done it to offer you the best scenario to make the most money but you have to spend and commit to AMD.
Its 500 series board, so should be ok for b500 or x570. But yes you need the combo of the 3 to get the SAM and Rage

Yeah I am ok with that. I was Team Red anyway so I see this as a bonus for sticking with Team Red :)

6800 looks good if it's actually £579. May be worth paying the extra over a 3070? Especially if you have a 5000 series CPU? Hope those results are legit.

It could be worse, you might have purchased a 3090 and been scalped doing so and the 6800XT is going to be 1k cheaper! thats a free CPU and some ram! lol :D

AMD done Good, wait for official benchmarks for confirmation.

get
ROFL
:D

SAM needs a 500 series board as well? As its processor direct to GPU, you would think it would work with a 5000 series processor in any supported board including B450. There's no real reason for it to be a PCIe 4.0 only feature only AFAIK?

Yeah a bit of a shame for all of us on b450/470, hopefully it's not more than 5% performance we'll be missing out on.

Want to see them on a non Zen 3, with their performance boosting SMA off, still impressive though, for how far they've come.

:D

EDIT: anyone else keep getting logged out, when trying to post ?
I am. Had it since yesterday and it’s getting worse.

I have absolutely zero technical knowledge on whether or not this is something that only pcie4.0 can allow room for, or if this is AMD rewarding those who shelled out for 500 series equipment (at an obvious detriment to those on 400 series ofc) - I see it as "if you go full team red, you get another x% on available to you"

Yes it is, at least they competing now and it seems some people are upset.
Who is getting upset? Got to be mad, this is great news. Hopefully AMD can increase their market share. More competition the better for us all.

nah son you went in straight with the "facts" and got called out so played the "i'm the source" card and nobody was interested anymore - now play it down like you didnt.

Son? I think that's unlikely.

Oh dear, you genuinely read that as my saying I was working at a BGA supplier rather than example situation. Crikey. Had that been the case I'd of simply gone "I work in the industry, there is a supply issue" lol.

But is it using RT or not. Regardless of whether we think it is important or not, we really need to have the full picture IMO.

None of those benchmarks will be using RT of course. If you mean does RDNA2 support RT then it's obviously yes because the new consoles have shown it in games and it is acceptable performance.

Looking good if the results are true but as already mentioned we need to see some results for everyone with non Zen3/X570 platforms.

With that said im so tempted to downscale my X470/3900x water-cooled ATX rig to a 5 Series/Zen 3 with an SFF or mATX case and then overkill external rad setup hmmm. :D

Or....just 6900XT/Water cooled and then enjoy that until the next big thing. :)

It sort of puts a hard limit on AIB prices for the 3070. You can't charge £600 quid for a 3070 when you can go team Red and get a bump up to the next performance tier.
