A trailer only needs a very small amount of stuff to show. You'd think they'd at least polish up that one little segment that they want to show off before doing so.
And 4 months between alpha and launch for a game like this? Impressive

You be surprised I have been in builds of games and 4 months is along time. When you think that games are these days released yearly a lot of the work is engine side passes. You got a link to this trailer?

They've 'launched' in exactly the same way as the below products did.

Could be an indication that stock will be low if the AIBs haven't been able to price yet. That being said, the reference cards already have a price so the AIBs have a model to price from, could just be that they don't know which variants they'll have available at launch.

I mean the dev actually tells you want I already told you 30 seconds in lol
So you want them to go towards release performance to show an early preview of a game?
Honestly, I'd rather just not be shown an early preview ideally.
Because now it's close to release and like I said all I could remember about it was that trailer so my opinion on the game is poorly coloured from the get go

Then how would devs build up hype? Would places like E3 exist? You need to show something otherwise a game will just drop onto the store from nowhere.

Trailers are snips of what you can expect they are not set in stone.

Ah but you said it yourself. Snips of what I can expect.
Of course it's subject to change, but when my first and only experience of what to expect is instability it does stick in mind

But you are told 30 seconds in performance will change so you should take that onboard from that trailer! You then have every right to wait for the games release to see if that is indeed sorted. If not then you have every right not to buy the game.

At this point I can't even remember what my original point was

Guys can someone give me a tldr

Did I dodge a bullet not getting the 3070?

Is the mid range 6800xt any good for 100hz 1440 ultra wide

Will my 4770k cause a bottle neck

This forum is like a news feed. How is anyone supposed to make a decision

Eh, everything up til hard launch is people yapping about rumours and scraps of data. You're meant to make a decision at launch with the avalanche of proper reviews.

Right now we can be sure the cards are good. However details of how they compare to Nvidia cards and the all important price is not certain.

Did I dodge a bullet not getting the 3070? - YES

Is the mid range 6800xt any good for 100hz 1440 ultra wide - OH YES - 2080Ti performance at worst

Will my 4770k cause a bottle neck - Might do yes, borderline at best

For the same price I would still be inclined to go for the 6800XT.
Are the 2080Ti not around the expected 6800/6800XT for second hand items?

If people want to sell them they will have to price accordingly.

My monitor is free sync which promotes 6000 series.
Id rather go amd. Even more so after the stock debacle nvidia caused. Hoping this upgrade will last years!

Currently on a 1070 fyi

Just checked
My cpu is from 2013!
Gpu is 2016!

Up until last week, they were selling around that price pretty much instantly for a second hand item. I've not been looking lately so it may have changed.
I'm planning on grabbing a GPU this year then maybe doing CPU next year.
