They were meant to be but 1st and 2nd gen were x399 and then they moved to trx40. Same number of pins different pinout.

They are Server CPU's rebranded and quite a lot of improvements were made between Zen 1 and 2, the change of the pin layout may have been necessary.

I'm on the fence because the same sp3 socket was used in the server space and will be drop in from Naples to at least Milan (I'm currently running rome) so if the server space doesn't need a re-pin why should the same socket in hedt?. but it doesn't bother me as I came to 1950x from 1090T so im not a serial cpu upgrader having owned 2 cpu's in my personal rig since 2010, for cpu's I buy an expensive one and hold on for a while. 1950x was/is still a beast and a perfectly capable cpu. I paid £999.99 for it in August 2017, it hasn't paid it's time yet.

Any ideas when we can expect confirmed UK pricing?

convert £ to $ and slap 100 on for the 6800XT and 200 for the 6900XT in your mind, then you can only be pleasantly surprised (or not).

I personally doubt they'll sell at MSRP when you have people crawling all over eachother for a new GPU from team green (a lot will switch if they have pre-orders where cash has not been taken)

1090T? i had one of those, great CPU in its day...

Not as good as the 1055T, clocked like you stole it tbh :p

Do we know when info on lower tier cards will appear? Might be interested in something like a 6700/XT. Can't justify even to myself any of these new GPUs

My gaming mates keep taking the pee out of me for having "half a CPU" (they have the dual CCD Ryzen 3000's) but i'll tell you what it chews through anything i throw at it with ease, its a little animal, by far the best CPU i have had the pleasure of owning. i even love the fact that its only a baby Ryzen 3000 because it demolishes high end CPU's that i was envious of just a few years ago.

You wished, Fed up of waiting all the time for you to catch up :p

Just read the amd 5000 series cpus will be able to extract even more performance out of amd gpus?

I'm due a cpu upgrade in 2021
