Can someone remind me of the different Sapphire cards. Generally speaking are the Nitro versions better than the pulse or vice versa?
It's really that simple. Nitro cards tend to OC better and offer better cooling then most other AIB's. Typically they are priced reasonably. As a tier they are the highest Sapphire offers. Sapphire's Toxic sku is more of their mythical unicorn tier that is allegedly designed to beat Nvidia's offerings do to it's higher then normal OC'ability. We haven't seen Sapphire release a Toxic sku in years.

Yep, this is where its at, Sapphire Nitro+ cards have always been bang on in terms of performance and cooling. This will be my first choice.

Thank you for that breakdown

Today its seems to go Pulse then Nitro/Nitro+ but i reckon if they did models on top you would have the Vapur-x and Toxic models. There used to be more headroom for clocks in days past so more room for different oc models.

No Problem.

If Sapphire comes out with a Toxic version it should OC higher then a Nitro version. How much? Depends on the headroom.

For Example:
If Nitro can do 2500Mhz and that's the max the RX6800XT can offer then we probably won't see a Toxic, IMO.
However, if Sapphire can get an oc of, lets say, 2600MHz then a Toxic might be possible.
This is all conjecture on my part. They could release a toxic that can do 2550Mhz which wouldn't be worth the increase in price.

Perfect. Thanks very much.
Looks like I'll be keeping an eye out for those cards then.

Pretty much what East Coast said, last Toxic i had or saw was the 6950, was an awesome card.

290 i had their Tri-X and Vapor-X both solid, the Vapor was their top end card.

They have been using Pulse, Nitro and Nitro+ for a good while now, that Nitro+ i guess replaced the Vapor-X or Toxic tier card.

Pretty sure they done a Nitro+ SE or something recently too, generally Sapphire cards have dual bios and their Trixx suite is very very good for OCing, zero RPM fans that can actually be easily removed and replaced as well, which was a design decision of theirs

Take a look at their Trixx features, the suite is very very good

Can switch bios mode from desktop and it has RIS built in etc, plus Nitro are RGB if thats your thing so can change the glow etc

Ok thanks, I'll take a look shortly.
I've got the pulse Vega 56 so was looking to get something of similar standard. I really like my current card so was wondering the different models.

Once things settle, I'll be getting another Sapphire card so I'll wait and see what each one features before deciding.

Same, pulse vega 56 so anything on par or maybe Nitro is the way. Would love to see a liquid cooled offering but the premium will prob be too much on the 6800XT.

It depends if I get sucked in to the reference ones on day one due to FOMO, would love a LC AIB model but there may not be many and too pricey.

Both vega and 5000 series were horrible from asus both strix and lower priced models, I think you are right, they'll care little

Edit: curious about powercolor too, tho even if the performance and cooler was great, 5000 series had a very high rate of return for warranty
