Interesting train of thought. Especially because it loses AC Odyssey but wins in Valhalla.
Does lose in WD Legion though, but this is an Nvidia/RTX title.
Yep felt the same. HUB becoming one of the best.Tell you what, i just came from the Gamers Nexus review and thought it was pretty mediocre, also with problematic things like Minecraft, overall he seemed pretty down on the card and his slides didn't show it in a great light.
So now i'm half way through Hardware Unboxed and it looks much much better.
The difference is Gamers Nexus used old or ageing games while Hardware Unboxed used the latest titles, funny how one review can give the impression the cards are a bit too mediocre, while not bad they are a letdown, and the next review they look really good, all because one used old games and the other didn't.
I think the AMD launch has been good but they desperately need more stock to gain market share on Nvidia. All the cards a gonna be quite close so the company with the most stock out there will win the day.Overall i think AMD really smashed it here, the one thing that soured this launch is stock, AMD never ever ever have a perfect launch, but if lack of stock is the worst thing,
Very nice!WOW! Look at the frametime graphs, Nvidia's are a MESS! I imagine we'll see this keep repeating in newer & newer games esp. as the 10 GB limit starts to choke the card.

I really hope they start using the 5950X, with SAM in future comparisons for all gaming benchmarks, because that will see the 6800 XT move up 5-10% in performance.
There really is no reason not to as the 3950X is bottlenecking in a few games at lower resolutions.
Even if SAM is kept disabled, they should still be using the fastest gaming CPU money can buy the 5950x imo. This is where reviews get tricky - if your using SAM on AMD then you must use DLSS on NV + ray tracing otherwise its not apples to apples. I think the only way to properly compare cards is with no proprietary features

6800xt is far slower than the 3080.
People will be playing games of all types though. You have to take them all as a whole and base it on that. It also seems a stretch to call games like RDR2, Control and Horizon old as well. The new games being used will have less appeal outside of Valhalla and even that has been hit with the crap bat in some reviews.
I thought the 3070 was looking like best value for decent 1440p, without the totally crazy power draw of the 3080.I can see
I know and so many people have been scrambling for the 3070s - for me thats the worst card of the lot and for £500+?
Good stuff, Rage Mode (+25% power limit increase) and SAM, and i bet the 6800 XT will be 10% better across the board.Matt im pretty sure Steve @ HU said they are retesting with either the 5900x or the 5950x in due course, and trying out SAM and Ragemode etc... im still waiting to pickup a 5900x, and will be getting either the Sapphire Nitro+ SE or the Red Devil 6800XT to pair it with, once that happens i'll tune my ram and go to war on the benchmark threadsgot 4x8 stick of 3600mhz c16 Trident Z to tune up.
Watched a really decent video yesterday, a guy with a 5800x vs Intel 10th Gen tuning mem, definitely worth a watch.
6800xt is far slower than the 3080. RTX 3080 is faster at 4k because of faster memory and DXR games massively faster as the RT cores are far better.
