Several comments about no numbers with RT shown... Which games are out that support RT using DX12 Ultimate?

Ouch

The question now is, when will we get some

I was hoping RDNA 2 cards would be able to just tag along the DXR pipeline and work in any game that has Nvidia's Ray Tracing, but I guess not

Looking like I'm going full AMD for the 2021 rig...

I won't be building until 2021 but do you think it's worth getting a 6900 in pre-order for December? I suppose I will be eating into my warranty period etc... but I don't want to wait months for it either.

Oh boy these are looking good, shame though that the base pricing this gen seems to start at £550+ but probably can’t expect a 16gb card coming in at around £350

Anyhow wanted to ask will these cards work with VRR on LGs OLEDs?

had my sights set on a 3080 gysync because of my LG OLED, but that was because I didn’t think AMD would be competitive.

would rather go full AMD if given similar performance + extra vram will be useful next gen.

LG CX OLED's fully support Freesync Premium for many months.

Smashing looking cards!

Depends what part of 2021 your building. Right at the start of 2021, so in effect a few weeks - month after the 6900Xt comes out (8th) then I would grab it or put pre-order in ASAP, if few months down the line, would likely wait IMO. I suspect as much as AMD say they are prepped, these will sell out quick regardless and the 6900XT looks to be binned really well so may be a queue anyways. Just my two cents.

Okay, so do I go for a 3070 tomorrow or wait for the 6800 to launch?

Shouldnt have to ask this. The 6800 beats 2080ti comfortably and the 3070 in on par with it. For me just the VRAM alone wins it if you do work/mine/science when not gaming, no brainer.

I’d say it’s a good start for RDNA2.if they can knock out as many releases of this architecture with 10-15% increases every year like they have with Ryzen then it’s good new.

bundle deal of all 3 items cpu, gpu, mobo would be nice .

Thanks mate. Realistically it's going to be Feb. Probably worth the punt for the sake of making sure I have it in hand.

Oh I'm not arguing that stock will make or break it for AMD. But no one who is getting a 3080 soon is going to cancel for a 6800XT at the same price.

People seem to be ignoring the fact that the AMD gpu's all have 16GB VRAM and are capable of SAM if coupled with a Zen3 cpu. That is a significant bonus as more games start to use higher res textures. The SAM will allow devs to allocate some of the spare 16GB as cache for cpu operations which should greatly increase performance beyond what AMD has shown so far. The console devs will make use of the feature for sure.

Some will claim that RT and DLSS features are better but we now know AMD is preparing their own competitor to DLSS which promises to work with a wider range of games. RT will also be at least as good as on the consoles if not better than the RTX 3000 cards and that is good enough for me. I've seen RT in some of the console games and it's great.

Here's an analysis of RT on PS5. Especially watch the Pragmata bit starting at 10:37

After today I'm not sure why people would not be cancelling their 3080 orders to be honest .
