Looking at a 5900x and a 6800xt upgrade. Forgive me if this has already been addressed!
But what is the best way to justify these expenses to the other half? I don't know the best way to approach the subject. She often physically assaults me and I can't remember the safety word. I am a loud screamer - I don't know if this helps.
if you have a ryzen 5000 series compatible mobo, just stick in the cheapest Ryzen 5000 chip and you get the 'free' performance boost for the RDNA 2 GPU, bingo.
Will be replacing my 3800x with the 5900x and my 5700xt Red Devil with either a Sapphire or Powercolor 6800XT.. Cant wait!
After today I'm not sure why people would not be cancelling their 3080 orders to be honest.
Is there going to be an AMD game bundle?

Because the game itself could be blocking the feature from being enabled without a patch from the game developer even though they are DXR enabled.COD and BF are DX12 DXR titles, they will work on any DX12 Ultimate compliant cards.
Whether the titles will need optimised/patched for performance remains to be seen, or if the devs even would but because Nv marketed them as RTX titles, doesnt mean they wont work on non Nv hardware.
AMD I imagine has a few copies of those titles since at least launch, so don't know what the risk is meant to be?
AMD knocked out the entire Nvidia ampere range.
That extra perf boost would be nice for Ryzen 5000 series / RDNA 2 laptops, wonder if its desktop only or not?
so happy I cancelled my 3080 order now.
I guess because there are no legitimate benchmarks yet and AMD have often exaggerated their performance numbers in the past.
If proper reviews confirm the numbers, then Nvidia definitely have a fight on their hands![]()
