The time came

It does have PE2s all round, I was looking for a weekend toy I just never imagined how **** the Clio would be off the boil and that last comment was obviously sarcastic in response to Fox's whining about applying morals to my dealings with the warranty company.

Next?

It does have PE2s all round

It didnt when you first said it did - thats his point.

You said:

'It has PE2's all round'

In reality, it had 3 PE2's and a budget.

Therefore you lied. And you waited for everyone to prove you wrong before you admitted it, as well, in true MH style :D

I still fail to see the issue there, it's not like I had anything to gain by lying, it was just easier than saying "Yeah well it has 3 PE2s, and a brand new budget put on by the dealer, I've already sourced a replacement so this information is pretty irrelevant anyway".

Ok, you can have that one, that is two - there are now 5,741 "lies" unaccounted for including this post.

Yet again, it's been blown out of proportion. If there is anyone here that has never told a small porky on an internet forum such as something like one odd tyre, I'll eat a hat for each one.

I can't be bothered to catch up on all the stuff inbetween owning an ST to buying a 182, so can someone fill me on on why???!

I don't understand, you say you don't lie and then you say you lie on internet forums because it's no biggie.

A lie is a lie. Why say "PE2s all round" if it didn't have them? Just say "it has 3 PE2s and I'm getting another for the 4th wheel" rather than lie?

Amazing, so in the space of an hour we've already found 2, probably 3 as you refuse to discuss the house one (its fairly obviously you didnt actually buy the house).

I think its pretty obvious that not much, if anything, of what you say can be taken as reliable. You'll say whatever you think you need to say to get cred.

Perhaps it's just me, but a lie that just makes something easier to say than explaining it isn't really a big deal, is it? Especially where it offers me no gain and harms no one else. At the end of the days, the "Motors crew" will continue on in it's witch hunt fashion and will continue to to play/interpret stuff to suit them.

If I saw any issue with it, I simply wouldn't have posted up the picture showing two odd tyres

Anyway what about "it broke on the way home" then "I got the car cheaper due to the pulley" - surely one of those is a lie too? Or is that OK because it's a lie on an internet forum?

You just don't do yourself any favours Mike, no one believes a word you say anymore. You probably don't care, and I must admit I enjoy the lulz of your posts as they unravel. :)

This is why it gets murky isnt it Mike?

Why would the dealer subsequently give you £100 towards the cost of the pulley when you bought it cheap because of that pulley?

What did that make easier to say Mike?

The end result was not as it was expected to be, beyond that I choose to keep things private for my own perfectly valid reasons.

They did not inform me of the Pulley issue, I weighed up whether it was worth it on the basis of me covering the entire cost, and then acted dumb later on.

It strikes me, given previous history and the fact it's almost certain that someone will notice small holes in your postings, that it would probably actually be easier to just be truthful and transparent and say things like 'it has 3 PE2s and i've a 4th ready to fit' rather than lie to save typing about 5 words and then have a huge debate about it later when people ask why you lied about it.

If there really are simple explanations behind everything, that you end up revealing anyway in an attempt to redeem yourself, why not just post truthfully in the first place?

"The car has full service history" - "I only said that because I couldnt be bothered to type it's not had a service for five years after a full service history, that would take much longer to type"

It wasn't ready to fit at the time anyway, he found that a day or so later.
