35mpg average on a weekend car you plan to rag about. This is on a car that only gets 35MPG if you drive it at 56mph on the motorway (not that you have many)?

:'(

How does the insurance compare too? I'd imagine the Honda is more

My friend claims 34MPG out of his, and also claims it sees VTEC a lot. They are surprisingly quite economical little cars.

But like I say, I don't expect to see that given my usage. But were detracting from the point here, I will not see figures as low as the Mondeo and I'll be driving a car I want to drive. The latter part of that statement being the key factor here.

That's one good thing about an EK9, 35 quid for a Kumho KU31 195/50/15:D

I'm using Kumho KU31's at the moment and although they are good I wouldn't put them on anything I planned to drive hard - and it sounds like Mike wants to really drive the EK9 hard.

How do you know you want to drive it? You've never driven one in your life and 4 days ago it wasnt even on your shortlist.

Now suddenly its the car you 'want to drive' because you've made a bloke an offer of under his asking price that he said 'no thanks' too

When I drove a DC2 for a while there was no way it got over 25mpg when you ragged it. VTECs drink fuel in VTEC. (Similar engine)

I love how everything is claims or 'mate says'. Ever thought you mate might be lying?

WTF, you are stating what you think is fact based on something someone has told you.

Here we go again.

Where I've stated I don't expect to see 35MPG more than once, is completely invisible to you.

Seriously, get the **** off.

So where did this figure even come from? If you know you'll never get it why does it even exist? Why did you tell us about 35mpg? Why did you do some calculations based on running the Mondeo and running the Civic over a year based on 35mpg?!

Seriously, get the **** off.

Oh how lovely :)_

Lol - I was browsing EK9 and saw a post comparing EK9 to S2000s

Re: S2000 Or EK9, Decisions :(

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've recently found myself faced with the same choice, I have no experience of either to base it on, but I think for that kind of money you aren't going to get a particularly good S2000, and the EK9 is probably going to be just as much fun and just as fast on the road.

This whole thing just seems inhumane. Surely it would be beneficial to both Mike and everyone else on the forum to just ban him :p

It'll probably save someone's life.

Someone asked what MPG you got on your old Mondeo and what MPG you could possibly never get even driving an EK9 as a weekend car like a saint (which I actually assumed for mechanical sympathy would actually be tracking it)?
