The Titan Amanda

Your cpu temp at load, at 4ghz is 52C - this is very unique. Do you wear a coat in your room? :D
LOL.

The heating goes off and the coat goes on only when benching mate, infact, I'm suprised I haven't got trench foot yet. :D

Bizarre, is that stable at 4ghz? Iv seen it stable at 3.6ghz orthos stable but haven't seen any screenies at 4ghz and orthos. Dosnt matter if it isn't 12hrs stable as its still a cracking clock :)

Care to explain ? unless your a troll and have never read the reviews of how they are setup on the testbench

With all due respect i've been overclocking a long, long time. My point was that your statement was suggesting that reviewers and people who that say the Amanda is no better than the Tuniq don't know what they are talking about. Which is rubbish.

Its aimed at hardcore overclockers, and should really only be considered by such people, since

a) its big,
b) its heavy
c) it needs quite a bit of power
d) needs to fit in a cool case
e) its expensive
f) that pci slot is precious these days...

If your running an e6600 less than 3.4 I wouldn't bother...

I fitted the Amanda and my experience was it is a bitch to fit on your own. :D

It works great and I have only hit 2.7 at the moment but I will be taking that higher. Just taking my time with it ;)

It is a big heavy large Cooler, requiring a PCI slot, and if you have a 680i board you only have two pci's.

Ice Tea makes a good point Rich. The cooler is on par with Tuniq etc. when reviewed with say a stock E6600. When an overclocked 920 is used it excels, as the load temps are that much lower due to the TEC actively cooling the thing. It is no longer a simple heatsink like the tower where heatpipes transport the heat away, but a cooling device.

How noisy is the Tuniq fan?

Very noisy on full, too irritating for surfing though bearable if you're gaming with headphones on...very quiet (but not silent) on the lowest setting but obviously not as effective.

So how noisy is the Titan then under load?

thinking of getting one as alternatiove too water but then i'd still have and loud Grafix card

I would imagine it be very quiet as it will be the tec cooling the cpu, so the heat sink/pipes will be cooling the hot side of the Tec mainly id imagine

I've just installed my Titan Amanda and i cant believe how noisy it is :( it's really loud..i hooked the fans up to my fan controller to see what speed they are running and they are running at 1700rpm although i read that they should be running at 1500rpm?.
Does anyone know if this is normal? it could be a dodgy fan because if i stop the one that is exhausting air out of the case the other fan seems a lot quieter.
If i can't get it quieter i'm getting rid of this i guess.

Temps are higher than when using the ninja ..hitting 70 now something aint right - will reinstall it again tomorrow i guess though i really cant be bothered.

Sounds like it's not seated or pasted right really... Which would also make the fan run too hard, if it's got any sort of smart fan control. Stating the obvious I know :)

Definitely doesnt sound right. Looking at your other system components you are a prime candidate for this cooler. I would love to know how the amanda ultimately compares with your scythe ninja, once you have it fitted/working correctly.

On a side note, the price of this cooler has dropped. It is now £55.21 inc vat
