Hello all, i am considering purchasing this computer from overclockers as it seems a n excellent spec for the price. I would just like to know your opinions on the computer with regards to what it could run well.
As i have a 28" lcd monitor do you think this would be able to run all new game titles with ease on max settings? and also do you think it would succumb to the likes of crysis?

Man thanks to all in advanced!

Yes its a good PC and will perform well at given tasks, however have you thought about building yourself? You can prob get more for your money this way

Oh right thats good. Well i did consider it but i have no experience building a computer and i dont really know anyone to build one for me, so this seemed the best option for myself.

i would definately recommend building the computer yourself , you'll find it more satisfying like anything you have made yourself and you will also be able to upgrage certain parts in the future, also the knowledge you gain will only help!

have a read of the 2nd sticky, it is quite easy, you cant go wrong (well you could if you tried, lol), just like lego

I know a lot of people have said the same but it seems such a daunting prospect to me, especially with the whole situation with static and shorting your components out lol.

But with all honesty could i actually build something much better than that prebuilt one? "the titan sabre" as it seems and incredible spec for the price.

Thanks again for all the advice mate!

swap the 5770 for a 4870 or 4890

just below 600 quid depending on what graphics card u get

well building one to the same spec comes out like this

OcUK Value ATI Radeon HD 4890 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card - Retail £121.98 (£106.07)
Asus M4A79XTD Evo (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard £83.98 (£73.03)
Coolermaster Sileo 500 Silent Case - Black (500w Extreme Power Plus PSU) £79.99 (£69.56)
AMD Phenom II X2 Dual Core 550 3.10GHz Black Edition (Socket AM3) - Retail + Colin McRae Dirt 2 Full Game £77.99 (£67.82)
Corsair 4GB (2X2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMV4GX3M2A1333C9) £72.99 (£63.47)
Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (WD5001AALS) £42.99 (£37.38)
Akasa AK-968 X4 CPU Cooler (Socket 939/AM2/AM3/775/1156/1366) £21.99 (£19.12)
Sony Optiarc AD-7240S 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £18.99 (£16.51)
Sub Total : £452.96
Shipping cost assumes delivery to UK Mainland with:
DPD Next Day Parcel
(This can be changed during checkout) Shipping : £11.75
VAT is being charged at 15% VAT : £69.71
Total : £534.42

So you can either get the same cheaper, or get better for same budget, in fact the custom built includes a better case anyway

Wow that is an incredible saving, you really have got me thinking now. Haha, can i upgrade to triple channel memory with that motherboard mate?

no, triple channel memory is for intels socket 1366 only atm, anyway for gaming 4 gig of RAM is plenty

Ah i see, so do you think a complete novice like myself would be able to put this together with relative ease? You really got me thinking about building the same comp myself now.

meh people talk about upgrading ability but in reality it will only save them a small amount of money down the line when i would rather have a better performing system for those years leading up to the upgrade. Unless u spend 650 then the graphics card will struggle if u spec an i5 system

whats upgrade path got to do with GFX cards? and i5 will struggle ?

i mean if u spend 600 pound on an i5 system you wont get a great graphics card, if he wants to get an i5 system then 650 quid would be the amount to spend. I didnt say that graphics card have anything to do with upgrade paths.

Also if you wana be future proofed im guessing u would suggest a 1366 board ? which would not budget to 600 quid ......

If you dont like dual core and want future proof then AM3 would be the only route to go down as you could get a nice phenom II quadcore with 4870/4890 for 600 quid , i just love the E8400 because i play css.
