The Trip To Spain

Thanks, missed that, Sky Atlantic eh,
another good guy lost by the BBC, hopefully humour remains East side of Atlantic

they are so funny together

whats even funnier is that some people were telling rob brydens wife how sorry they were when he had his 'fling'

watched just the first Spain one last night ...
must be due to their ageing, loss of vocal control ? but a bit disappointed by the quality of both their imitations now.
would be interesting to play an earlier episode to compare, but, Mick Jagger was not so good, and man-in-box ?
maybe the best imitations on previous series were when they were group dining and trying to out do one another.

so far seems to be concentrating more, on introspection of their lives.

Great traavalogue, showing tourist sites, rainy days and all.

They have not introduced an ongoing musical sound track either, like previous with morissete (how do you spell it) ... maybe that will come.

I've watched them all, as they are all available on demand. There is one episode that really had me laughing out loud, so I wouldn't have any concerns about it not being funny.

I won't spoil it because obviously a lot of people have only watched the first episode, but I will say that the ending is a bit strange.

Watched the first episode this morning and it was ok, I can't help but feel they got extras to sit in the cafe with them though as they sempt to be there hours with the same people sat around them.

Redemption with episode 2 - as said - a joy.
Mr Bond, hearing aid sketch, on the rack, Hugh Grant, Abba (prefer the Portishead SOS)
.. "nothing worse than a tastless tomato"
cuisine too (apparently tasting menus now becoming passe though)

Hadn't realised they have the trip to Greece on Sky , shown March 2020, 15 days to watch. ... there is a god.

watched Coogan's Greed film - it should have been called (Phillip) Green .... predictable but fun

Oh grand. Interesting to see how they carry it on from how the previous series ended.

Quite like the Paul Whitehouse and Bob Mortimer thing on BBC too. Similar to this in as much as it's a couple of pretty funny chaps coming to terms with being middle aged and generally mooching about. Obv not scripted like The Trip but similar feel.

Have not finished them yet,or, saught out Mortimer,

Greek Island of Hydra ... nice, I imagine it's expensive.

good thread on some of the excellent music, also used in greece https://www.talkclassical.com/31968-music-trip-italy.html
Perhaps you found 'your music, or not? I looked for 'epidode 5 BBC The Trip to Italy' on Internet and I think its the same music as in the film I saw yesterday (in Amsterdam). The - classical - music in the film I recognised (because I have it on cd) is 'Im Abendrot', one of the 'Vier letzte Lieder' = Four Last Songs composed by Richard Strauss (1864-1949), performed by Jessye Norman (the cd I have is Philips 411 052-2, 1992, "Richard Strauss, Vier Letzte Lieder - Four Last Songs" + 6 Orchestral Songs, all performed - beautifully - by Jessye Norman. Hope that this is wat you were looking for. Regards, Amaria
