From the games I’ve played PUBG seems to tax it the most, that’s actually bringing the load temps to around the 83-85 mark but as I’ve said boost is maintaining a high level and the cooling doesn’t become audible either.

I really like my 2080 FE as well. The cooling is amazing compared to last gen 10 series. It’s super quiet too. Every 10 series card I’ve had as been noisy in some way. My card didn’t go over 77c infact it’s never gone over 77c since I’ve had it. I guess it’s down to what case you have and how you cool it.

Lunch has arrived.
Tempted to try it with the 6700K but think I'll just switch the old card out of the TR system

well after my coil whine RMA, overclockers decided it wasnt a fault and were going to return the card :( so getting a refund instead.

now unsure what to do, whether to go for another 2080, or either go less money with a 1080ti and more money with a 2080ti

either way pretty annoyed.

They used to class coil whine as a defect if you could hear it through your case, was it that noticeable?

Yeah that’s really the crux of it...it’s only PUBG that reaches as high but I’m going to mess about with the fan config within my case to see if I can bring things down a couple of degrees. Cool air also inform the top with everything out the rear of the case may work better for me...housed in an H200.

Again it’s not a concern though, the cooling solution is vastly better than the old FE shroud which in all honesty, worked, but it was really load when it was worked.

Shoulda been replaced imo, their stance on coil whine seems to have changed. =/

Understandable... they're practically giving away the 2080 and 2080Ti at bargain prices, so such charitable business practice is bound to have a knock-on effect elsewhere. :p

Have to admit the stock cooler is a really nice looking design, if they have vented it more it would be even more efficient.
Really well built and great design. Does remind me of a VHS cassette that someone else mentioned but that's not a bad thing :).
Now installed. RH far end side is very close to the heatsink on the Asus X399-A board (removable and is for M2 slot) and wondered if I should have removed that. It's in place and secure tho so will leave it for now.
Thanks @Kaapstad

After using one briefly I don't think I'll bother with the RTX cards, kinda thankful my card had coil whine, good excuse to send it back because compared to a GTX1080 it just didn't feel like much of an increase.

anyone else got these under water, my blocks arrived today and using the fe cards with the blocks and temps are a lot to be desired, both were installed but one was way hotter than the other, so switched back to one but even so at 1440p ultra settings in d2, the division and mass effect andromeda the card sits at around 56-63 degrees under water at full looad with a clock speed around 1950-1980, (no overclocking) does this seem right or do turing cards run warm in general?
