The Turing RTX 2080 Ti Owners Thread

Nice, my swag pile is growing ready to start a new giant build:

Been spending most of my time stripping things out the old giant and making my temp two fan small radiator rig:

Few fans in it...

For scale here is the 1000d on the desk I just finished building, made from some pretty cheap timbers on the scaffold frame:

Currently designing the new rig but a few things not in stock so may be slightly slow progress in the coming few weeks! Project log incoming ;)

Never been keen on AIO gpu’s. Always either ran a good quality air cooled card or gone with a reference GPU and waterblock.

As more likely than not they end up being a very similar price.

AIO’s on the other hand are normally significantly higher priced. They only have a 120/140mm radiator which isn’t enough and the pipes are too thin for my liking. Plus it can be a pain to fit while also looking neat and tidy.

A 120mm aio is generally more than enough for a GPU, my titan X struggles to hit mid 60"s with it set in push\pull and that's gaming at 4k. One of the ti's listed has a 240mm aio so that would presumably be overkill.

Obviously an aio isn't going to deliver temps of a dedicated loop but they're handy if you want to faff about doing a full loop.

Note not one but TWO packets of Haribo!

Looking forward to the log!

I just flashed to the EVGA XC 130% BIOS.

It hasn't increased lol.

Nice, let me know what you think of the 1000, I was a huge fan of the 900D.

Shows how bitty this release has been when everyone on the ROH has a different card and not one of them is a founders.

Availability seems really up in the air, drips and drabs of cards at best. Apparently some of this is due to typhoons in Asia delaying shipments. Some folk on the geforce forums are not impressed to say the least, pitchforks and torches prepped.

That reason kind of makes sense. Luckily I managed to put another XC Ultra order when the £1780 listing dropped back to what it was before. They told me they were expecting shipment very soon and I should have it Monday or Tuesday (fingers crossed) My other XC Ultra order got delayed to 15th October! Whichever comes second gets cancelled.
