Tea, coffee, sugar, rtx?
Came Thursday, but a longer delay for my block haha
Gone off the Kingpin brand a bit.
The 1080 Ti Kingpin was very poor.
Having said that the 980 Ti Kingpin was a fantastic card.
I find those tests in the reviews are always a bit iffy, especially when comparing at "stock" clocks of each card. The X trio will likely be clocking higher on stock so will have a bit more to cool than the DUKE on stock which is likely clocking less out of the box.
I was thoroughly really impressed with the trio x, 1950MHz out of the box on the 2080 and when I set a more aggressive fan profile it clocked over 2000MHz without an overclock - that was just GPU boost.
i have never got why people care about looks.
honestly someone could make the most hideous looking card you can possibly imagine.
but so long as it 1) fits in my case 2) is fairly quiet 3) performs like an absolute beast and 4) costs a fair price
personally i will buy it with pride!.
(note arguably at least 2 of the above are not true of any of the 20XX cards at the moment )
Yeah, I'm posting at 4:15 am because I can't sleep

I have never seen a fan that would be this quiet with some crazy speeds like 2400 RPM. This is magnetic levitation fan combined with MSI blades that are among the quietest if not the quietest on the market, their fans on air cooled cards are known to the best on the GPU market, and here you have it in form of 120mm case fan with magnetic levitation technology, so no more rattling and all of this nonsense. It is just a hum, nothing else, fan noise is entirely controllable by fan speed, with no other side factors. I would say say that it is as quiet as it can be. If you want a comparison, I have Corsair H115i, its stock fans are topping out at around the same RPM as MSI fan, and there is a world of difference between the two. Corsair fans make the PC sound like it is about to launch to space, MSI fan is way quieter. Turbine fan on the GPU itself is also significantly quieter than Corsair fans. Which is important because both fans are controlled by one slider, so if you set your fan speed in MSI Afterburner for example, it affects both fans.
I am keeping my PC in a different room because I am terribly oversensitive to unwanted noises like hum, rattling or coil whine, but even for me this is a really good fan.
Also keep in mind that this 47 C is on some crazy 380W bios with max OC, the single card pulling the same amount of power as my 2x MSI 1080 Gaming X SLI taken together. On stock, which in power heavy tests like Fire Strike Ultra Stress Test loop means hovering around 1900 MHz at slightly below 1.000V, the card tops at 51-52C at minimal fan speed, 700 RPM. With manual adjustments 1.000V will get you between 2070-2085 MHz sustained in games. So cooling performance is really good, with 380W bios and max OC this card is a monster, pulling 2x the power of overclocked custom GTX 1080, and I am staying below 50C full load.
What is this sleep you talk of?
Need to take more time for yourself . Spent years working all over the place, hotels, rented properties and kind of felt like burning I was out a bit, constantly tired. Nice to earn the money while one can but also need a good work/life balance, something I've been crap at in the past .My 2x 2080ti, 2x EKWB blocks and backplates & NVLink bridge are patiently waiting for me at home, but with my work calendar (albeit including a trip to somewhere new that I'm really looking forward to)... I am not going to be able to get everything installed and play with them until nearly the middle of November.
I crave playing with new toys like this, especially new GPUs, my fav bits of PC hardware... normally I have them in on the day they arrive, even if I don't stick the water blocks on and just run them on air til I have a day to rebuild... this is already driving me nuts... I wanna join in on the fun I'm not the most patient of people, especially when it comes to new toys

Would be horrible to wait 4+weeks to have a play
You are doing it right. Before I was a stevedore, I was a roofer all over London and lerraving my house to pick the lads up at 4am and getting home at 8pm every night and weekends doing local work. Whilst the money was really good, the work/life balance was muck and didn't make for a happy Greg. Now I earn less but have more time for family/friends and that is more important. I work to have fun now and enjoy my job which helps. Thanks for the thought / concern... but I derped a typing oversight while tired... I should have just put calendar, without work... even if I will be working over that time, it's thankfully only usually a 37.5hr week unless something massive breaks for a premium client, which thankfully has proven to be a once or twice a year type occurrence so far *touch wood*. One of the work things over that period is consultancy for a new client in Turks & Caicos, with a couple of nights in Miami on the way there. There's plenty of life fun and play involved in my plans... I didn't communicate it well in that post, but it's more the weirdness for me that I'm prioritising playing with other things and nice life experiences (including visiting family next weekend) when I have these awesome new toys sitting at home waiting, when for every GPU release up to and including the last, I was always getting them as close to launch as possible & installing them within minutes of the courier arriving and the enjoyment I got from that, but this is the first time I've wanted to do other things instead & I've chosen to wait to play with the GPUs by making a variety of other plans... plus the main game I'm looking to experience on these new GPUs is the new Battlefield & the release has now been pushed back to 20th November, so no rush.
I have been over-extending myself somewhat this year, more than I have since my first job at uni where I could work crazy hours and in that scenario, my life time allocation outside of work was really poor. I learnt that lesson after about 1.5-2 years of crazy working.
But the important and positive difference this year is that this year is the first time in my working life where I have spent more time and energy on my personal life than I have my working life... so nothing to feel sorry for me about, I'm having a lot of fun
The thing I really need to pressure myself to do is take a proper rest day more often... but at the moment, I'm of the opinion that's what winter hibernation is for and until then, I'll bumble along with brief moments of appearing and acting like a zombie when I'm a touch over-tired
I'm posting so much all over the forum at the minute, because when I have one of my unenjoyable insomniac nights, it helps to keep my mind active with something.
Yay!!! It is here and installed. Now to play some much needed games
So Jealous!! Have fun dude.
