The Turing RTX 2080 Ti Owners Thread

hi,
trust you are doing well.
i have four problems.. just wondering if someone has been able to solve it

running rtx 2080 ti ventus + gaming x trio (both manuf by MSI) in sli [win 7 x64]

- the computer takes a long time to boot after the windows logo animation - someone who could solve this
- i dont see any SLI specific settings in the control panel.. like AFR/SFR/Profiles.. Vega 64 in crossfire used to have some settings.. but the control panel is showing RTX 2080 Ti x2 and is also listing both cards under the third tab in performance.. would be great if someone could post a snapshot of the control panel
- unlike crossfire the second card does not shut down after windows bootup.. if i remember the second Vega used to switch off its LEDs after boot-up- can someone confirm if this is normal behavior
- MSI afterburner is throwing some side-by-side config not correct msg at launch - anyone who has solved this?

thanks.

I would seriously consider upgrading to windows 10. None of the new features offered by the 2k series cards will be available on windows 7.
SLI is enabled in Nvidia control panel, SLI profiles are in specific game profiles. I assume you have an NvLink connector otherwise SLI will not work at all.
MSI afterburner may be buggy with run against two different models of card.

yes i have the nvlink..
the control panel is listing both cards correctly but nothing was showing up in the global settings.. i will check game specific profiles... thanks... any inputs on the specific issues?

as an aside... if you are talking abt raytracing.. dont think the 2080 ti will be cutting it.. maybe 3 generations down the line there will something respectable .. personally i think raytracing is a passing fad :)

side by side config is a MS installation configuration error message. Uninstall everything Afterburner related it's possible you've more than one copy installed.

Trying to run two 2080Ti on Windows 7 is utterly ludicrous, upgrade your OS if you want anyone to assist you correctly.

thanks... will try this and report
will do the win 10 thing after the next driver update cant just slog with builds at the expense of game time :)
.. but i think nvidia had listed win 7 x64 drivers on their download page.. so i believe its supported

No ray tracing and no dx12. You may want to upgrade to Windows 10. Dx12 is the kicker, more and more games now supporting it and it's necessary for ray tracing in most games moving forward (not sure what the ray tracing situation is with vulkan).

Well, I think my 2080Ti FE is almost dead. Lasted a week with random application crashing, and now it's circling the drain with white block/space invader artifacts even on the desktop shortly after boot before it takes the whole system down a few seconds later.

Going to be having a word with nVidia's customer service. Expected better from a £1.1k card!

Sorry to hear that, I'm leaning towards trying to get a refund. This product launch has been very poor and the bad quality control is the final nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned.

Seen a few posts like that on the geforce forums, weird coloured artifacts appearing on the desktop =/
