My 2080 Ti PC just freezes and does not even get to the error message.

Update

The game runs fine on a single card but SLI is causing the problems.

Further update.

Game won't run on a single 2080 Ti.

I will be doing a full Windows re install on that PC and see if that fixes it.

Mine was fine until yesterday (up at 7 playin then by lunchtime it’s starts to crash no blue screen just like the pc had been restarted . Then the whea uncorrectable error came up took a day of work to try different drivers etc will reports back seemed ok when I play doom . I hope it’s drivers.

Had my other replacement for the original card I bought and that's also running Samsung VRAM as well, so both cards are running Samsung now.

Ran a few benches and no issues so far, the logo is green and the fans are quiet so looking good, even clocks a bit higher at stock out of the box :D

That is soooo Windows XP era thinking.

My current install of W10 is 2yrs old and runs as fast and stable today as it did in 2016.

It is also probably full of old plugins, downloads, Microsoft rubbish, registry errors and maybe a virus or two.

With the small amount of time needed to do a full reinstall it good practice now more than ever.

What programs do you run?

Reinstalling W10 from scratch is not a trivial concern for me. I haven’t done it for a long time.

I'm running the same install of Windows 7 from 2013 on my gaming PC - still as stable and responsive as a fresh install, if there is any malware on it it is some kind of super stealthy rootkit hah. To be fair have had a couple of minor registry errors over the years from programs not uninstalling properly but I've enough knowledge to fix them myself.

No junk like left over plugins, etc or other clutter as I stay on top of housekeeping the OS.

Doing a full reinstall is a pain as there is a fair bit of software to reinstall and environment to configure.

Hello. I am thinkg about one exactly same card like yours on ebay. Its is cheaper but seller claim its brand new. I asked him about posting proof of item being sealed. Can you back my up little bit and tell me perhaps describe to me how was your card sealed? Box sealed with sticker or antistatic bag?

I hope I am not pain in the ass

Thanks Mike

I have this card, it came sealed on both ends with a sticker, bag was sealed with tape and the back plate of the card has a plastic film that needs to be removed, plus it was fingerprint free....

Congrats gents, we are now awarded the chance NOT to get a free Battlefield V code like the new buyers do. :)

/Reminds himself of a article named just buy it, the value of the early adopter thing and all that technology at our fingertips (months later)...

Fun

I'd just run the restorer and select to remove all files. Win 10 has the ability to refresh itself without using external installation media. I always use at least two drives(one for storage) so is usually a case of moving items from desktop into storage and taking backup of favorites although these days even that is not strictly necessary as they will be restored anyway (from cloud). I tend not to use My Documents.
It's not really necessary today days unless having issues. A few years back I wiped a drive and by the time I got everything installed onto the clean drive usage was pretty much exactly the same as before.
CC cleaner I find is pretty useful and WIndows deep clean too for removing old update stuff.

Need to buy another one to get the free game . Yeah, bit rubbish to be honest. I currently refuse to buy the game. Not sure I'll keep to that however :D . Actually already used it for 10 hours anyway and I can take or leave games so might wait for bugs to be fixed and pick up another time (cheaper).
