I'm getting black screen crashes on my STRIX 2080 Ti bought at the end of October 2018. Haven't completely narrowed the issue down to a hardwarae problem, but it is looking increasingly likely. If it is, it will be the first time I have ever had to RMA a video card.

Mines arrived at ocuk this morning, hoping for a fairly quick turn-around.

Got nr.2 today for NVlink. Arrived and installed. Quite impressed with this Inno3D card - feels sturdy. Oh yes it came with Samsung GDDR6 Vram.

Sent an e-mail to Asus about my fan problem and they got back to me and said it sounds like the C fan was not properly screwed in, thats why there's a vibration noise when the fan spins up from 0db mode and why I don't hear any noise once the fan is running. They also said that its not something they would accept an RMA for since the card is fully working other than the slight noise issue. Not gonna lie, disappointed about that but then I don't have a replacement card to use if I sent it off and while I would return it to OCUK, my father was stupid enough to throw the GPU box away so all I am left with now is the card

The fix of course would be to open up the cooler and screw the C fan in properly completely fixing the problem and I would normally do it myself but lets face it, do I really want to risk screwing up a £1300 graphics card over this?

Update: I'll message OCUK, see what they think

Have had one which i bought near launch and never had an issue with it for the 3-4months i had it. Not heard anything from the buyer i sold it to so i'd assume its still going strong.

Good cards to be honest, Very nice quality compared to most AIB cards.

Unless you decide to tighten the screws with a drill it would be fairly difficult to screw up the card by disassembling the cooler. Of course it all depends on your own confidence and how much the noise bothers you...

Have two FE 2080 Ti's in SLI and both are working flawlessly since around the first week of Oct last year. Both GPU's get used pretty heavily and have at a minimum of 1500hrs+ on them.

PC runs 24/7 even when idle, so far I can't fault them at all and both run Samsung VRAM.

I keep reading that people seem to be very happy with Samsung ram on their RTX 2080ti.....My MSI RTX 2080ti is currently with UPS on its way back to MSI for the 2nd RMA ...... so which ram is considered the worse kind to have for potential problems? and how many varieties of ram? and which is considered the most likely to fail !

Isn't there a 2080ti super though? The models numbers registered in May indicate ti as 150 and a 151 has appeared

There is no definite answer to that. I had a MSI RTX 2080 Duke OC and Gainward RTX 2080Ti Phoenix Golden Sample both cards with Micron vram failing back in November last year.
The Gainward card I got refunded and the MSI card was replaced with the same model and also with Micron vram and it has been running fine. In January I paired it with a Palit RTX 2080 GamingPro OC also with Micron vram and both run NVLink SLi fine.
Here in May I purchased a MSI RTX 2080Ti Duke OCV1 and an inno3D RTX 2080Ti Gaming OC X3 and both with Samsung vram and both run NVLink SLi just fine.

We hear this every single year and it can hardly come as a surprise - so I don't really understand the reasoning behind it. RTX 2080Ti users have enjoyed their cards for the past couple of months, just because something faster comes along doesn't mean it has been a waste. It would be more of a waste going from the RTX 2080Ti to a RTX 2080Ti Super instead of waiting for RTX 3080Ti in the next iteration of turing.
