Had a 2080Ti and UW, I know ;)

Drinking whiskey atm though due to ****ty toothache :(
Well it's given me a lot more FPS in Apex Legends which is what I mainly play, feels smoother now as I guess minimum FPS is higher and it's more often than not reaching 120 fps which is what my monitor does.

O God yeah I'm not denying it's a good combo, esp when RTX gets involved! Enjoy man, serve you well for a good while

Hi guys how are you?

Yesterday my PNY RTX 2080 Ti XRL8 Gaming arrived, but the temps seems a little hot for me, with the max power limit and +110 on core and +600 on memory I get something about 81/82C with 100% fan speed, I just saw that the 2080Ti is a little hotter than 1080Ti, should I be worried? Should I return this card or its OK?

Thanks

As a reference, with no overclock and good case air-flow, I get highs of around 73'C after several hours of gaming. I don't think its a big problem having 81/82C with the additional power limit increase.
I guess the question is around case/gpu your cooling solution?

What's it like at stock?

Do you need to overclock it?

With the same Case , Thermaltake View 71 and my old 1080TI i got something about 7/72C with OC, i don`t know if the 2080TI one is hotter

It`s a very huge case, the radiator is at front and i he 4 fans at top, and i fan at back

As long as the direct on your fans have similar amount going into the case as going out of the case, you should be fine with case airflow.

The 2080TI runs around 20W~ higher than the 1080TI, especially with the additional power limit increase, others may be in a better situation to advise, but those figures don't seem too far off what i'd expect.

69C stock on my Zotac AMP 2080Ti with fans on Auto.

+150/1000 OC gets to about 74C on Auto. Did test a manual fan curve but Auto seemed to do the job and I couldn't bear the fans at 100%.

Is precision X1 any good for overclocking? My FTW3 struggles getting over 1950 (top speed not stable) and with this heat mine, even with fans at 100 %, hits 83 degrees. Wondering if it's software and afterburner works better?
Been a while since not having a waterblock and it sucks!

One reason I’ve always stuck to water even if that meant sticking with a ref board although gone back to my old 900D recently meaning it will fit pretty much any card I want.

My cards sat at 45-48c even in this heat with maximum overclock 2075mhz and +1000 memory.

83c for that card is extremely hot. Don’t think I was seeing anywhere near those kind of temps with my 2080Ti FE and that has a substantially smaller cooler.

I’d say from experience the case is too small (window too close to side of GFX) or poor airflow.

I’ve actually had the FTW3 and if it doesn’t have a good 2-3inches of breathing space near the side of the card it suffers.

But to answer the original question, I’ve always found afterburner the best overclocking software out of what is available.

Thanks for response.
Corsair air 540 with two 140 silent wings 3 as intake and one as exhaust + 120 Corsair air.

Think I got a dog of a card, it's in my lounge pc (4k)so maybe I get a waterblock and stick it in my desktop, sell the watercooled 1080ti and get a new 5700xt card with the money for the air cooled lounge pc when they release AIB versions.

I don't seem to go above 50 degrees, but I am on full water and it's near silent. :)
A bit too much (for my taste), I was maxing to 46C with my previous Vector RTX Nickel Acetal (first gen) and then I've replaced it with the newer Vector RTX RE (nickel plexi), I've never seen anything above 42 degrees so far (2070-2085).
And I'm good, non silent though.
