RTX Titans on stock cooler and bios perform much the same as 2080 Ti cards with waterblocks and tweaked bios.:)

Ah, but what would they perform like on water?

It would be a brave man that tried to find out though with £5K of GPU’s. Not sure I’ve seen any benchmarks for that either but it’s understandable why.

On the subject of water - I'm guessing Palit are not one of the brands that are happy for you to replace the cooler?

I'm planning a custom loop (mostly because the AMD Wraith attached to the 3800X is really, really noisy), though might leave the GFX card out of it until I'm confident it's not going to crap out and need returning in a couple of months.

If it has stickers over the screws then best to ask palit. If not then as long as you dont damage anything and it goes back together the way you took it apart such as all thermal pads etc then i can't see there being an issue.

Just ensure you get a decent screw driver set so you don't damage any of the screws.

Either way palit i'm not sure about so maybe best to drop them an email.

It is not exactly difficult for NVidia to produce.

The 24gb of Samsung memory found on the RTX Titan can already do 16Gbps without any stability problems.

It is just a case of NVidia reducing the memory from 24gb to 12gb.

The RTX Titan also comes with a higher boost clock than the normal 2080 Ti.

Having said all that what is the point of launching such a card if NVidia are under no pressure from AMD.

Could be. Or could be a cheaper-to-produce variant of the Ti, or an ultra-Titan or ...

I kinda hope it's not a Ti Super, as I've only just got my Ti!

Anything’s possible with nvidia :p. I’ve had a Ti since launch so I won’t be buying one either way.

I can’t see it personally as again you’d be talking percentages in improvements for probably hundreds of pounds extra. There isn’t that much difference between a Ti and a RTX Titan so a card in between won’t make much sense.

That and most Ti’s cut that margin even more with a tweak of the RAM and core clocks. Mine holds 2100/16000 pretty effortlessly as it is.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Nvidia did it anyway though. Ker-ching!

AMD doesn't matter, they still need to make money on their investments. New products are always going to be more exciting to buy.

No one who has a 2080 Ti is going to want to upgrade to a card about 5% faster and anyone who wants a card with 2080 Ti levels of performance will be happy with what is available now.

Replacing the 2080 Ti with a super version will not give NVidia any more sales than it can get now with the existing hardware.

The only thing that will change the above situation is if AMD produce a card with similar levels of performance.

The mistake you've made is assuming that they're targeting 2080ti owners. There's still 99.9% of the market who doesn't have that and amongst whom there's still sales to be made until next-gen. Especially with big name super-hyped games just around the corner, Cyberpunk, Watch Dogs Legion, Doom Eternal etc. Plenty of people want to bite on a flagship but feel like 2080ti is too old (compared to the wait for next-gen) & for some of those a Super version is just the right nudge to pull the trigger. You can already see this playing out with the other Super cards, even the 2080S.

You are underestimating the power of 'new shiny'. Don't! Nvidia built themselves an empire on their marketing efforts.

Hey there, new 2080ti owner here. Got the evga black and it's a beauty. I found a thread that says you can flash to a palit non a chip that has 125% power limit instead of the 112% of the black.
So I did, I was steady at 8200mhz memory and 2070 core but the palit cards fans top out at 2500rpm and the blacks should be 3500rpm so I was at 88.c
I flashed back and get 1995-2010mhz which is great.

My question is, is there a way at all to flash it to a higher power limit without losing the fans rpm?
I read that you cannot flash a non a to an A chip bios. Maybe someone clever can tell a way to get some other bios as I know this card would hit 2100mhz with a higher limit and its fans running properly

How much do they charge then in GBP for the ten year warranty? Did you register and take advantage of even the five year option?

When I paid for mine it cost me about 40/50 euros for a total of 10 years on my 2080Ti.

I’ll be keeping it for a while and then I’ll likely be selling it to my brother who usually buys my cards and keeps them for several years so very likely it will be needed.

I briefly had a black edition and there was no way I could flash to an A bios through lots of testing.

The only way is to flash with a different model non A bios that has a similar fan setup and speed to your own. Not sure which other cards have non A chips one of the reason I returned mine and got an XC ultra. 130% power limit and the cooler is twice as thick although I now have mine on water cooling.

Don't suppose you still have that xc cooler?

@Kaapstad I have a picture of my system with the Strix 2080ti O11G installed, but not with my username on it, do I have to retake it?

This is my baby.
