Documentation! :)

Our server/network documentation is a bit sparse so I'd like to rejig it. Mentally, I can think of lots of things I'd like to include but not sure on how it should be formatted etc. Cosmetics have never been my strong point!
Also, it would be really cool if I wasn't manually typing ALL of it (some, sure) I'd prefer not to reinvent the wheel, so does anyone know of any templates or something I could pinch? :D

our testing envrionment, saying how to setup new virtual machines, restore them and back them up

such a pain in the butt :E
 
I used a script for all our server documentation, it's called SYDI Server. Basically pulls everything off the server and sticks it in a nicely formatted word doc.

lol, I've got a mountain of this to do in September. It's not until you have other people doing work you realise how much stuff you just pull off the top of your head. Plus I have a colleague who's incapable of working anything out for himself.
 
Documentation winds me up.
I have no problem with doing the basics that could do with being documented, but when SMT want documentation on every single little task i do then im non too keen.
