Lorna Jane, the first fully electric vessel on the UK fishing vessel, was designed and built by Hans Unkles, a crab and lobster fisherman from Tayvallich in

It's only good for crab and lobster fishing and the like but it's a start. May it be the first of many.

Very interesting. Time will tell how long the solar panels and connections will last in a saltwater environment but it's a start. The speed and range doesn't really matter on these small boats as they don't travel very far every day, mostly 10-15 miles maximum away from their home port. I wonder if it would have been more efficient with a water jet although that would require a different kind of hull. I would have been barfing my ring up in that sea and that wasn't particularly rough!!
