Hey,

I just bought a new DFI lanparty and HIS 1900XT, everything was going great, install OS again, update, install all drivers for evertthing.

But everytime i start up i get a Hardware installation thing saying something's not installed. If i look at the Device Manager, theres a ethernet controller not installed and a unknown not installed (Just says unknown)

Im confused because ive installed chipset drivers and everything, am i missing something here! i dont know what ethernet controller the comp is talking about.

i also read that it can disrupt the bios. anyway only one way to find out ;)
 
If you're not using the second lan, just disable it in the BIOS and then it won't give those messages on startup. The less hardware installed, the faster it boots.
 
yeh i just installed the drivers for that and it went away, but i still have one which says unknown device!

Does anyone know what this could be??
 
What DFI mobo is it that you have?

My nF4 Ultra-D has two LAN ports - a Marvell one and the nForce one. Each has seperate drivers.

I would recommend using the Marvell one as I had problems getting the nForce LAN to see my router (in fact I never solved that problem :confused: ). You can always check out the DFI website for drivers, or better still you could try http://www.dfi-street.com

I assume you installed the chipset drivers after you installed windows?
 
got everything sorted out mate, with all the driver issues.

problem now is my memory is failing memtest the whole time!!!! annoyed!!
