Does anybody know if trading up from an XT1 to a XT2 specifies the condition (the body) has to be in. Just had a small accident with my XT1 and took two tiny chips out of the body. It's still in fine working order. Lost a Fuji 35mm 1.4 also :(

Not a total disaster. The 35mm turned up. It had fallen out of my bag before leaving the house as a consequence of a faulty zip. I have used a black permanent felt tip on the tiny area the bits of metal alloy are missing. Just wondering if it would be worth filling in the bits with some putty type resin and then paint it black to blend in?

The trade-in offer simply adds £100 extra to what the dealer considers your camera is worth for second hand re-sale. If the camera isn't functional then it's possible they may not even accept a trade-in. The better the condition it is in, the more you will get back ( plus an extra £100 bonus for the trade-in ).

Maybe I misunderstood but I thought some places were offering a stated/set £500.00 for presumably a functioning piece of kit. I hadn't considered they might have been grading them in accordance with that offer? After my little mishap the condition of my XT1 has probably gone from Grade A to B.

Just checked with Wex on their website and they say "working" when it comes to trade in though the amount is lower than seen elsewhere at £480.00 inclusive of the £100.00 bonus.

My understanding is that most sites are grading the valuation then adding a £100 trade-in bonus on top of that. That's what happened for me anyway, but my X-T1 was in good nick so I got a good deal.

Oh well. It's not looking good for me then with those two tiny little chips I've taken out of the camera :( Still I've got an immaculate condition XT10 I can trade in or sell separately. I'll just have to see what sort of valuation I can get on the XT1 or both towards the XT2?
