The urge to upgrade

Before when I wanted to build a rig, main components I would pay attention to were the CPU, Mobo and Ram, as I wasn’t a big gamer I never really took much notice of the gfx card and least of all the case, it just needed to be big enough to fit the stuff in, but now on my last build I think it took me over a month to decide upon the TJ09 and even longer on the Zalman HD135. Even tho I spent weeks on deciding which the best case was for me and I am happy with my choices I can’t stop the urge at looking at other even now. Now when ever I do a system build for a friend there’s always some new bits and bobs that were not out when I built mine and I get that urge to build a second unit for myself. Is there anyone else out there that has been upgrading parts they don’t really need, just because there’s some thing marginally better out there… do I need to find a support group or something…. is there a ‘upgrade addict anonymous’ or am I just alone and doomed.

Hehe,

put your money in a bank account without debit access, forcing you to leave the house if you want to upgrade :P you'l think twice.

That would also mean no tesco.com tho tbh. NO FUPPING WAY.

Gotta say I had the upgrade Bug once but have managed to stay on the straight and Narrow since my last 3 years in rehab (bought a house so no money).
However the time has come to splash the cash again mindlessly on stuff I just do not need, so I have flogged ma old PC and am about to embark on the Core Duo road of enlightenment :-)

I haven't upgraded for well over a year now, and the temptation only gets worse... :(

I just can't kick the addiction to wanting more STUFF. I think they tend to call it materialism. :)
