Ugh...i've had the misfortune of watching the first episode of The Vampire Diaries at a mates house. It's like Twilight meets Dawson Creek...I feel like banging my head against a wall just to forget it...utter rubbish :(
 
Right after everyone saying this got better, I went back, watched the rest of the season up to date and frankly, it's god awful, it doesn't get better, you all have bad taste :P

I kept thinking maybe it'll get better next episode, maybe there is something that hooked people to this turd that I haven't seen yet but nope, it's utter garbage, i was right with my first opinion from the first episode!

True Blood...well written, check! Funny, check! Characterisation, check! Hot chicks, check! Lots of sex, check! Interesting and engaging story, check!

Vampire Diaries...Hot Chicks, check!...oh...that's it ;)

Honestly though, each to their own, millions of people watch Stargate & CSI which I find utterly boring, so there must be something there. I give VD a 2 maybe 3 season run before the vampire fad wears off. However True Blood has so much more to it it'll be around far longer.

Might start a little war here, but just in the sci-fi genre alone Babylon 5 and Battlestar Galactica are leagues ahead of SG. Outside of sci-fi straight off the bat you've got Band Of Brothers, The Wire, Lost...to name just 3 :D
