Poll: The Vega Review Thread.

What do we think about Vega?

  • What has AMD been doing for the past 1-2 years?

  • It consumes how many watts and is how loud!!!

  • It is not that bad.

  • Want to buy but put off by pricing and warranty.

  • I will be buying one for sure (I own a Freesync monitor so have little choice).

  • Better red than dead.

What nonsense. The performance of one thing does not change based on the release of another.

You may well mean "relative performance" but that's not what you said. ;)

I'm also not sure why you are posting these pointless negative comments, let the products show their merit (or not) based on actual data when they actually exist ...

As was told to you earlier ... you are in for a long wait if you want VEGA for 350

And it's been mentioned that Vega 56 is selling slow. AMD have no reason not to reintroduce the lower price point, at 500 pound Vega 56 is a terrible buy. The pound to dollar has gained since then. 350 isn't out of the realms of realism once AMD reintroduce the launch price.

I'd rather vote with my wallet, than bend over (Which frankly is why GPU prices are the mess they are. People too eager to get shafted)

Again, this is ignoring the fact that at 350 pound all you can buy is an AMD 580. An R9 290 was 330 on launch day and when's all said and done, a 580 and 290 are within spitting distance on latest drivers and clocked etc. (Obviously there's a few outliers)

Yup, and those are ref 56s, you can get oc'd custom 1070s for only £380, and then theres the Ti coming this month as well, that will be probably be around the price of those ref 56s. or cheaper, and be faster, and no doubt, the 64s performance as well, which for the cheapest ref air cooled, is £540, with the ref AIOs being £690!, OUCH!.

Yup it amazes me how many people love to get bent over and let companies go in dry, they must really enjoy it..... But then again, what do you expect from forums like this :D :p

.
Nividia will be lucky to be making calculators in a week :p
If I was a fanboi

Even if you hate AMD you want competition, you want to see the tech this decade not next. They'll copy Intel tactics and just do mostly nothing if not pushed, Volta can all goto deep learning type buyers unless nvidia feels pressed I predict it'll be slim pickings for high end consumers to get a card

If you see a very silly price its because theres barely any stock. Next time I see 10+ and a reasonable price I'll bump the thread, it was listed similar to launch prices the other day fairly sure

So I take it you didn't upgrade your GPU in the last couple of years then

Yup still on my MSI GE 290, must be 3/4 years old now (bought for £310 and once games were sold on, it cost me about £260), just about managing 2560x1080 60HZ with some settings reduced. Would love to buy vega 56 AIB but it isn't worth more than £350....

Yeah, it's hard to decide man! Asus is butter smooth for gaming but the LG is just waaaaaaay better for everything else

If Vega were better then I'd just get one, clock the LG to 80/85Hz and forget about it. But it's not! :(
Yeh the lg is really nice, what you need is nvidia to support freesync
